UCLA Admissions Acceptance/Rejection Date

i can’t believe i got in!

uc gpa-4.15 pretty good ec’s(varsity tennis, hospital volunteer, officer of some clubs like BSU) but my test scores were horrific! 1830 SAT and 29 ACT…maybe my essay about visiting africa with my parents?

i know they dont do the affirmative action thing anymore but i seriously think being black and femal helped me a ton!

congrats to everyone who got in!

@cassienoix I had a 1760, and thank you! I’m still shocked!

" know they dont do the affirmative action thing anymore but i seriously think being black and femal helped me a ton!"

Don’t sell yourself short. My D, also Black, had a 2000+ sat, 4.0.+ GPA, good EC’s and didn’t get in (class of 2012). Without “adversity”, affirmative action didn’t get you in.

Yeah, she’s over it, but I’m still ticked.

@livelovecheer: Ooh; I saw your post of this somewhere a few seconds ago :slight_smile: Good job and congratulations again! Hope to see you in UCLA (if you end up going and we bump into each other somehow haha ) :)

You never know what they look for. My son got in: 3.86 weighted, 2000 SAT, 4’s and 5’ AP tests, but tons of extra-curricular–lots of “meaningful” community service (written up the papers about it), world champion athlete. They not only want grades, they want a well-rounded individual. Good luck to those who haven’t yet heard, and congrats to those who did. I’m sure you all worked hard!

Bleh, rejected by UCLA with a 4.0 UC GPA and 2230 SAT. T_T

World champion athlete probably holds some weight

My d got rejected. It was her first choice. Sniff.
