UCLA Admissions Class of 2026 Discussion

Looks like it is the best guess based on past notifications. Here is a link from Ask Ms Sun for all of the UC’s

Thank you

Can you update accomplishments and changes to UCLa or other UC schools?

Unless the UC’s ask for additional documentation, you cannot update any information.

And if they ask for additional info, then probably they are not considering you. Correct?

UCLA is always the third Friday in March. So whatever that date is. This year its the 18th.

Not correct. If they are not considering you, why would they go through the hassle of asking you for additional information?

Do you think UCLA will send out Regents invite along with decisions this year? Asking since it’s almost March.

Your guess is as good as mine

Is this AR?
AR is a great opportunity to provide the additional requested info. May help a borderline applicant get admitted.

AFAIK, its Supplemental essays + Senior year grades that they usually ask. That seems to be a good sign that they will atleast consider the applicant based on the essays and grades provided.

Hi,
I thought this information would be helpful to you. My daughter was asked for more info in 2020 and she ended up getting admitted. Here’s the letter that was sent and she had one week to reply:

Thank you for applying to UCLA. As part of our review process, we would like to give you the opportunity to provide additional information about yourself. This is an optional supplemental component to our review process that may assist our readers in evaluating your application.

Please log in to the Application Status website at (link removed) and click on the “Submit Supplemental Questionnaire” link on the left. If you choose to submit supplemental information, please do so by 11:59 pm PST, February 6, 2020.

Please note that this questionnaire is being requested on an individual basis. Not all applicants will be asked to provide additional information.

Thank you in advance for considering this request.

Sincerely,
UCLA Undergraduate Admission

Getting a supplemental is an encouraging sign and depending on the responses it could result in an admission.
Again, I guess the admissions team see some potential in the applicant to merit another look with the additional info to be provided by applicant

A supplemental or augmented review is only send to a small percentage of applicants. UC’s do not routinely ask for Mid-year transcripts or allow you to update awards and EC’s after the UC application submission.

Also be aware that if you are denied admission, UCLA will not accept the following as part of their appeal process:

Because all applicants are evaluated so thoroughly in multiple extensive reviews, admission decisions are rarely overturned. For an appeal to have merit, it must bring to light new academic and personal information, as well as information pertaining to extenuating circumstances, that had not been present in the application.

When we talk about presenting “new” information, we mean information not already presented in the original application (e.g. classes that were not listed as AP or Honors that should have been, additional coursework, etc.) — information that clearly shows the student to be stronger than had been earlier evidenced. High grades received in the senior year, recently acquired awards or additional extracurricular activities are not a basis for the reversal of a decision since decisions are based on academic information that was available at the time of application.

sorry I meant “If they dont ask for , means they are not considering …” cause we never got an request.

So technically only this small percentage are being considered then correct?

Getting a supplemental/augmented review does not guarantee admission. There are far more applicants whom are admitted that do not receive the request than did receive the request. An augmented review just means UCLA needs more information to properly evaluate the applicant.

Good to know, thanks. With them not looking at ACT scores and rec letters … its cut down a lot of aspects … especially when you know those would work in your favour.
