UCLA Alumni Community College Transfer Scholarship

How many people are actually doing this. It seems like a hassle compared to Regent's. What do you guys think?

I've never heard of this scholarship, where can I find more info?

Did anyone get a telephone call about this? I did, am I special? or did everybody get this call. Fill me in...

For those who got a call, post your stats.

The students who received this phone call should have a 3.75 or higher since that is the requirement to qualify for the scholarship..(all pending on whether you are accepted..meaning the phone call has no bearing on whether or not you have been accepted). In addition, I think the phone call has to do with whether or not you selected any scholarship boxes on your UC application. Not 100% about that, but pretty close.

I know a girl who did receive the phone call who only has a 3.58 so I was confused as to why that is. (also, she is a communication major which is very very competitive..im thinking a 3.58 is not good enough) I did find out more on the situation and apparently until she reported her fall grades she had a 3.81. When the alumni did call, he asked her if she had a 3.75 or higher and my friend was like, "something like that". lol So, I guess what I am trying to say is the alumni callers probably have a list of people with a 3.75 or higher at the time they submitted their application, but not a list of the current status of students. I mean, why would the alumnist have asked her what her current gpa was if he actually knew? Just a theory.

I received the phone call too...but when I asked, the alumni said " This phone call means nothing..." I think they just let us know the scholarship..
