hi,
I am a high school junior student from VT, and I really really really want to attend UCLA for college. I want to set up an admission inverview with an UCLA alumni;nevertheless, I have sent thousands of e-mails to UCLA but did not get anything back.Does anyone here can help me or any current UCLA student can ask the admission office for me???

Admission interview? UCLA doesn’t do interviews for admissions.

They don’t!!! oh, then can I at least speak to an alumni who is working with admission office or something???

As others have stated, UCLA does not do interviews. Not even for in-state residents who live 5 min. from campus. They do not require teacher/counselor recommendations either. Very different from smaller private universities or Liberal Arts Colleges.

Search the UCLA website for general info about admissions. Also, the people who post here on this forum are a combination of current students, alumni, parents, etc. Ask your questions here and I bet they will be answered or you will be directed to other sites, etc. Not sure why you need to talk to an alum as most people who apply to UCLA never do. Good Luck and let us know what we can do to answer your questions.

Yes, what information are you looking for? You won’t gain any advantage or anything by talking to an alum nor the admissions office.

Yea like they mentioned alumni interviews are more for private and ivy league type schools. I recall one of my friends having an interview with a Cornell alumnus that lived only a few minutes away from our school, lol.

But yeah, post any questions you have here or in the UCLA Bar thread.

Thanks for the information! That help me a lot. I just wondering about the English credit, if I have more than one ESL credit in my classes, right now I have two ESL credits. Does UCLA will count as a English credit, because I know that UC does not acknowledge more than one ESL type of credit. However, I have taken some harder English classes to prove my English;nevertheless, in my school there is no difference between ESL credit and normal English credit. If they don’t acknowledge my ESL credit, Does UCLA will pay attention to my SAT,ACT or Toefl if I do really well on them?
Since I have completed the others requirements of ELC which are the a through g courses except English. Do I will eligible through ELC if I am going to taking another three normal English classes by the end of senior year ?

Thanks.

I believe ELC (eligibility in the local context) is for in-state residents only - top 4% of your class.
