The correlation is about 60% of students who get the email will end up getting in. No data on those who don’t. @StevenToCollege
Email is an invitation email sent to specific applicants. The actual email is a generic message. Regents is notified at admission and there is no app. Applying or not applying has no effect on admission.
@momtomusicians if it is, it may make more sense. I am applying to Computer Science, which is very impacted. My friend with similar stats got the email but she is applying to Bio.
And how does this work if you applied to a specialty major like their nursing program? Would they still offer Alumni or Regents Scholarships? Lastly, are these emails coming to your regular email acct or through the portal?
Hey, I applied engineering, and two of my friends with similar stats applied Bio and got it. One of my friends with perfect stats who applied engineering didn’t get it. CS & engineering may be more competitive for this thing, I guess.
@letsgorams Sorry for the super bowl loss. Lol. That user was wrong and was spreading misinformation. He is also banned rn so he cannot log in and respond.
Sorry, I’ll make myself clear: the information I posted was from a survey done in another (banned) forum website. Nonresponse bias probably played a factor in that survey, which is where I got the skewed 94% figure from. Sorry bout that.
