I was invited to apply for UCLA Alumni Scholarship, and I was filling out the registration form right now. On the registration form, there is a section for “background.” One of the options is “Student is an athlete.” Well, I’ve been on my school’s varsity Cross Country team and am currently participating in Track and Field, but I’m definitely not good enough to participate in athletics at UCLA. I wasn’t sure if I should check it or not.
I am pretty sure you should check it, I did too and am in the same position. Most people who do athletics in high school are nowhere near good enough to do it at UCLA, so it wouldn’t really make sense to have that there otherwise.
It is unfortunately vague; are they talking about funds available for UCLA athletes or just those that have taken part in athletics? I suggest you contact them and ask; see https://alumni.ucla.edu/alumni-association/contact.aspx
