Hi! I’ve been using collegeconfidential quite a lot but I just made an actual account and this is the first time I’m posting anything, so sorry if I put this in the wrong thing/place because I’m not too sure how this works.
Anyways, I’m not sure if I accidentally marked a previous email as read but I JUST got an email about UCLA Alumni Scholarship, telling me that the deadline is this upcoming Monday, 2/22/2017. My biggest question is, does this in any way affect admission? I know programs like Regents basically guarantees you got in, but was this email sent to everyone, or does this mean I’m more likely to get in?
Secondly, like I said there’s a chance I may have accidentally not read an email in the past about this, so the deadline is very close. Basically, I have 2 school days before the weekend, and then it’s due on Monday… so is it even worth doing? Even if I somehow beg a teacher for a letter of rec (maybe ask for one of my teachers to reuse the one I asked for CommonApp), I heard very few people end up getting the scholarship.
I also received this email! I’m really excited, because I’ve been doing research on the alumni scholarship email invite on past threads and apparently receiving the email means you were among the top 10 percent of applicants during the initial screening round (based on gpa and scores). very excited! there’s a lot of positive news regarding receiving this email on past cc threads.
Are either of you transfer applicants?
