UCLA Alumni Scholarship

So when do we know if we advance to the next round (the interviews)? Is there anyway to check...

I don't think there's a specified date...could be soon though since the interviews are scheduled to begin late March...

Yeah, on the application cover sheet it said that interviews would start this weekend... So in this case no news is bad news for us, because I think if we had progressed to the next round they would have told us by now so we could make travel arrangements. But then again I'm really pessimistic... maybe they've pushed the interviews back since decisions probably won't be out till next week.

Can anyone please call the Alumni Scholarship people to make sure that interviews would still be on the weekend of April 1st even though admissions decisions are coming out later?
That was the only weekend in April I was able to clear. So I really want to make sure they aren't changing those interview dates.

I tried calling but the scholarship director wasn't picking up at the moment.

Actually, can someone just call them and ask when we'll be contacted for interviews? With the excuses of having to make travel arrangements if selected?

You should just leave a message.

if we got invited to apply for this does that automatically mean that we got accepted?

They check to make sure you're accepted before moving you to the next round, according to my private counselor that once did do the interviews for the ucla alumni scholarship.

Unfortunately, no.

do you or anyone you know get the call and have advanced to the interview round? because if no one here at all has gotten a call yet.....i guess they havent started calling anyone at all....hopefully

do you think it looks bad if you got invited to apply but were too lazy to fill out the essays in time? like would that be enough to turn an acceptance into a rejection?

^ No, you don't have to worry about that.... EVERYONE is invited to apply but obviously not everyone is going to take the time to do it, so it really doesn't matter

i was invited to apply but i didn't. at that point UCLA still wasn't one of my top choices... oh, the irony...

Anyone heard anything yet?

if you or anyone u know has gotten a call/notification about this, please post...cuz if no one here has gotten anything then i guess they haven't released anything yet

although, the first round of interviews were supposed to already have started THIS weekend....

well, the alumni people left a message on my cell but i didn't check it until they called this morning to make sure I knew that I had an interview today. It was in the morning from 9-11, so yeah, they did notify me and I gave an interview.

wait bucks06...ur a student interviewer? So u interviewed someone for the ucla alumni scholarship? hmmm...did anyone here get interviewed? bucks06..do u know if everyone that has advanced to the next round been notified that they have interviews?

no, i got interviewed.

A contact point of mine related to ucla alumni said they would be calling all throughout next week.

hmmm..howd ur interview go bucks? how long did it last?
