I wish more schools were like them when it comes to admissions. Just release it on the same day or week so applicants dont have to keep on checking their portal every day.
Agree!
I don’t know if you’ll feel that way when the system inevitably lags and you’re staring at a loading screen because 30,000 prospies are refreshing the page.
I would much rather wait a few hours for a system to be back up than having to wait a month between the first and last batch.
@LopApo Yes, well if it is a few hours. When I was applying, the system went down for 2 1/2 days. My classmates and I were driven literally insane as we repeatedly refreshed a 404’d page to no avail.
Rolling admissions have their advantages. The problem, especially with how UCSD handles it, is that they offer no concrete information on when to check your portal. Many schools that do rolling inform applicants beforehand when to check their portal. But, that being said, part of it is the sheer volume of applications. A lot can go wrong for admissions timetables when you’re dealing with 30,000 applications, which is why UCLA doesn’t even given quite a concrete date as to when. Some years these universities just need more time. Rolling admissions are a more salient way to keep pace and make it known that they’re keeping pace.
2.5 days? which school was that?
