UCLA and UC Merced Joint Program?

...>.<
On behalf of UCLA, we are pleased to offer you admission to the collaborative between UCLA and UC Merced—the UC Merced Shared Experience Program. Shared Experience provides you the opportunity to pursue your University of California degree on the UC Merced campus, with the option to transfer to UCLA, after two years and upon completion of the terms of the contract sent to you in the mail. You also will have the opportunity to remain at UC Merced for degree completion, should you prefer to do that.

UC Merced has gained a reputation as a friendly, personalized, and academically stimulating environment for its undergraduates. Campus housing is guaranteed to all freshmen, as well as access to new facilities, caring faculty and staff, research experiences, support services, and a wide array of student activities. Please contact your Shared Experience Advisor at UC Merced, Dr. Elizabeth Boretz (eboretz@ucmerced.edu; 209.228.2993) for more information about this unique program.

If you wish to accept our offer to participate in the Shared Experience you must respond by May 1, 2008. Please submit your positive "Statement of Intent to Register" (SIR) for fall 2008 directly to UC Merced at http://ucse.ucmerced.edu and fax or mail to UC Merced a signed copy of the "Provisional Admission Contract" that was sent to you in the mail.

If you have not already listed UC Merced on your application for financial aid (FAFSA), please add this campus now at FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid, using Title IV code 041271. We invite you to learn more about UC Merced by visiting the campus homepage UC Merced or call 209.228.4682. We encourage you to keep your options open by seriously considering this pathway to success.

Does that mean after 2 years in merced i'll be accepted into ucla? like a guaranteed spot?

basically yeah

how many people get these..?

btw what are ur stats?

with respect, I think you'll get rescinded b/c of ur grades

does everyone who get rejected get this? given they applied to uc merced?

It's a guaranteed program for applicants who just missed the mark for regular admissions. The goal is to enroll more students at UC Merced, with the hope that some may change their minds and not transfer after 2 years.
