You should tell us a general area of where you are located. Plus online saves you the hassle of going to class but most online courses that I know of have in-class exams. Also, what do you need the course for?

I’m in the Antelope Valley AVC nor COC offers Anthro 33, I know one can be admitted into UCLA Anthropology without 33 as so few colleges offers it but, I’d like to get it over with if I can. So are there any Community Colleges in So Cal or online that offer Anthro 33

Los Angeles City College offers Linguistics 1 which is Intro to Language & Linguistics. This was for the fall schedule, but hopefully they offer it during spring as well.

Los Angeles Valley College should also be offering Anthro of Lingusitics in spring, but isn’t online- Anthro of archaeology will be online tho in spring

Yes, there is a class. I’m an Applied Linguistics major, and Anthropology 33 is one of my pre-requistes. I’m applying to UCLA this fall and I just fineshed that class at West Los Angeles Colleges, which is exacly what you are looking for. The class is 100% on-line, but runs on a 8 weeks fast-paced, and you can find it listed under Antropology 104 Human Language and Communication. Professor is Mary Hardy, which is an UCLA Anthropology graduate student who is currently working on her PhD. Unfortunately, this class is offered only once a year, every fall. However, Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills also has the same class, but you would need to take it on campus in a normal 16 weeks semester. The on-line class was very fun but challengingand as well, and we ended it up with a ethnography of communication project that every student conducted individually. I’m pretty sure that you will have fun, too. I hope this info helps you. Good luck.

I took Linguistics 1 at Los Angeles Pierce College in fall 2007 with Levine. Very knowledgeable professor, really interesting class. I’m a politics major, for what it’s worth (which might be context…?)

Check Assist.org! The Anthro 104 at West LA College doesn’t count for Anthro 33 anymore
Los Angeles Valley College has Anthropology 104 which fulfills that portion! It’s great! Etudes is easy-to-use and there is a course available this Fall. Take it! But I heard LACCD will change their online course from Etudes to Canvas and some campuses will use their dedicated online tools.
