I want to transfer to UCLA in the FALL of 2017 as a Political Science major and I had a question about how my AP Credits will count. I passed the AP AB Calculus exam and I received a 3 on the exam. Do I still need to take a mathematics class to satisfy the UC transfer requirement of taking one math course before transferring or does my 3 on the AP AB Calculus exam satisfy that requirement?
I’d imagine it would be enough.
says yes on this page: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/exam-credit/ap-credits/index.html
since you want to xfer in Fall 2017 my guess is you are finishing up your 1st year at a CC right now. You should work with your xfer center to make sure you are on track. The UC system also sends its adcoms out to the CC campuses on a regular basis so you can set up meetings with them as well.
