UCLA Apparel

I'm excited to be attending UCLA this fall, and I was wondering where you current students get your UCLA apparel/clothing. I'm tempted to buy a sweatshirt off eBay or somewhere else online. Should I wait and buy it when I'm on campus (is there some sort of student discount?) and how much does it usually cost?

I'm wondering the same thing...

Usually the on-campus stores are intended for visitors, as shown by the abnormally inflated prices.

I ordered one from the store that they linked to on the New Frosh page...it should be arriving soon! Hopefully just in time for the UCLA victory tomorrow!

I wish I had this in time for tomorrow.

I should put that in my car if I decide to go.

Is there a chance they might be giving a free t-shirt during College Welcome Day (consider that it costed me $30 reservation fee for 3 people)? I mean, I did receive a free t-shirt from UOP on Saturday, and that I didn't pay any money to attend.

Minnesota sent me a free T-shirt when I got in.

Too bad UCLA's not doing something like that. I rather like the Minnesota T-shirt, even if I'm not going there...

the bearwear section at ackerman is where we get our clothes. sweatshirts are usually about 35-55 dollars, depending on whether its hooded or not, screenprint versus stitching...there are discounts around different holidays or when we win games sometimes...but not specifically just for students, unless you are an employee.

Do we get a free sweatshirt when we go to open house? I heard people got them last year. But i'm not sure if it's true.

ooooo really?

What's this open house? Welcome Day? Or something else?

The open house is for the engineering department and it's on April 9th.

awwww... so not Welcome day...

Well, guess it wouldn't have mattered if I got a RVP for Welcome Day then.

theres sales a few times a year. 25% off halloween and valentines day sales, 5% off for every touchdown we make in a winning football game, up to 25% off

Here's some advice: don't buy any UCLA merchandise until there's a sale. Most of it is hideously overpriced ($50 sweatshirts and $30 polo shirts) and there's always a sale once or twice per quarter where merchandise is 25-40% off. As for school supplies/computer supplies/sports equipment/general necessities, you can find better deals in Westwood/other parts of Los Angeles anytime.

How about the license plate frames?
I see online it's $11... and that is very cheap compare to to other schools (i.e. USC)?

Nice ones cost around 40

Thanks flopsy, I was gonna pick one up this weekend, but I can always wait.

My sweatshirt, unfortunately, did not come today.

But it should be here tomorrow, go UCLA!!!

40% off 50$ is still too much... theres a manufacture outlet east of LA that sells them for at most 12$ the whole yr, and when its specials, it drops to 8$

believe me these guy make the same stuff that in the UCLA bookstore and they are great quality too

o yea, and there pretty much ever skool, so even if u LA u can get cal or w/e
