I wanted to appeal to ucla's bus econ i have a 3.5 gpa. with straight A's in major related courses. For those of you who have appealed and have been accepted, what did you guys put down on your appeal? if you guys have any advice or a few pointers please inform me. thanks a whole lot.

they say that appeals are meant to "bring to light new information" that you feel they may have overlooked. Just explain how much you want to major in business and how ucla is a school you really want to attend, its worth a shot, what do you have to lose?

you have any good news. like my counselor told me of a person who got multiple awards and reported it and got the appeal won.

can you apply (or accept) to other colleges while you are appealling your admission at UCLA?

when were appeals decisions first made? does anyone actually know of someone THIS YEAR that won on appeal?

id like to know the same question as freebird.

anybody?

"does anyone actually know of someone THIS YEAR that won on appeal?"

yes my friend GOT IN THIS YEAR with an appeal. her appeal included a cover letter, resume/brag sheet, and most importantly, a letter from her principal stating he/she thought that my friend should've gotten into UCLA.

she is also ranked 9th in the class and has a gpa over 4.5 (not sure what her UC gpa is, but it's probably maxed out).

she appealed about 1.5-2 weeks after her rejection and received her response a week before submitting SIR.

Thanks

++++

BUMP BUMP BUMP
Does anybody care to answer the above questions.

i already answered littleol'me's question already.

"can you apply (or accept) to other colleges while you are appealling your admission at UCLA?"

yes you're supposed to accept another college's offer if your appeal goes beyond the SIR submission date.

"For those of you who have appealed and have been accepted, what did you guys put down on your appeal?"

a letter from your principal stating that he/she thinks you should've been accepted would be nice. that's what my friend included in her successful appeal to UCLA this year.
