UCLA/Berkeley hopeful... What are my chances?

I'm a California resident looking to go to UCLA (top choice) or UC Berkeley (2nd choice).

I have a weighted 4.0 GPA and an unweighted 3.78 GPA.
My SAT score is a 1980 with a 610 in math, a 640 in reading and a 730 in writing.
My ACT score is a 32 with sub scores of 29's in math and science and 35's in writing and reading.
I'm currently waiting on scores from some SAT II's.

I've taken 4 AP tests, scoring
5 in Eng. Lang
4 in AP EnviroSci
3 in APUSH
3 in AP Euro
And I'm currently enrolled in 2 AP's (Gov and Eng. Lit)

I consider myself a really well-rounded student, I've been the captain of my club soccer team for four years, I've held positions on the Associated Student Body at my school for two consecutive years, and I am also the president of two clubs outside of that, one for volunteer work (which I founded my sophomore year) and the other for acting and entertainment (I became president at the beginning of my junior year). I also am one of the head tutors for the freshman introduction program at my school, and have been for three years.

I'm looking to go into the college of letters and sciences, so nothing math based or engineering, I have more of a humanities-based mentality.

I think my personal statement is pretty solid, I consider myself a good writer when it comes to school.

UCLA is basically my dream school, so I just want to know what you guys think! Be honest please! Thank you!

(low) match for both

My son had a 3.85UW/4.5W last year with a 2010 SAT and 7 or 8 AP’s. Lots of EC’s. He did not apply to UCB. He was rejected from UCLA, WL at UCSD, and accepted to UCD and UCSB. he appealed to UCSD and was accepted on the appeal, not from the WL.

Given the above, I would say both UCLA and UCB are a high reach for you. The UC’s have become very competitive. You would be wise to include some safeties.

I’m also applying to
UCSB
UCSD
UCD
University of Utah (safety)

You might want to include UCSC. My son also applied to U of Oregon and got a very nice FA package. He loved the school- UCSD was his 1st choice but this would have been up there if they had a men’s soccer team. With your stats you would get some money as well as discounted tuition for the WUE program. It’s a big campus with a lot to do. Very rainy.
