Hi All!
Ignore my previous post–first question resolved! Yay! I have a specific question.
I applied to Pre-Business Economics from out-of-state at the UW. Out-of-state tuition is getting scary and I would love to come back to California. I’m declared as a Business major there, specifically in Finance. I realized, however, that I am missing one of the requirements, UCLA’s equivalent of MATH 31B. I’ve finished all other requirements, including ECON 101, 41, etc. at my current institution.
I got into my second choice major… Pre-Sociology. I really wanted to get in the Business Economics major, but was offered my second choice which was not as competitive. I know that the major I was offered admission to is my primary major and I’m aware that Business Economics is selective and impacted.
If I were to complete MATH 31B at UCLA during my first quarter, I was wondering… is it possible to declare Business Economics as a DOUBLE major on top of the current major I’m admitted to (Sociology)? Or am I only allowed to apply if I was admitted only as a Business Economics major?
Or is that only acceptable vice-versa?
Also, side question: For students at UCLA who are interested in Business, do the clubs/organizations generally help you more? Or does the major play a big role in affecting career aspects?
Thank you Bruins!
