I'm hoping that some biz-econ majors or grads can give me a little insiders perspective. I am trying to decide between UCLA biz-econ and Cal Poly SLO's business program. One is very theoretical and the other very hands on. I'm so confused about many factors. The obvious issues like campus size and feel I can sort out on my own, but with regards to which will serve me best professionally I am confused. And worried about what happens if I don't have the grades to get into the biz-econ major. Any pointers are appreciated.

And to get into biz-econ it takes something like a 3.8 I think I heard. That sounds really tough, especially if I play club sports. I am a great student, like all admits, but that sounds pretty intimidating. Any other thoughts out there?

If you work hard, you should get into Biz Econ. Search for the thread I created a few days ago.

If you have something on your shoulders and that something is called “brain”, an actually functioning and highly stimulated organ, then you should have no problem with getting into the program.

Take this advice from me, a person with a sub-par IQ of 105. :)

Hey, I do have one of those brains, so I feel hopeful. I am really excited to read (study) your Biz Econ post. I just peeked at it and saw that it is long. Have to run to school now but will look at it later and probably send another question your way. In the mean time, do you know anyone who plays club sports and is able to pull off biz econ? How about that with time for a business club or a little social time to actually enjoy the social opps at UCLA? Or am I in a fantasy world? Thanks! I REALLY appreciate your help!
