Hi I am a senior applying to the UCs and want to know what my chances to UCLA, UCB, and UCSD are.
UCLA is my dream school, just curious to see if I have what it takes to get in.

Applying to computer engineering
Male
CA Resident

Academic:
4.0 UW GPA 4.3 W GPA 4.0 UC GPA
Ranked 1 out of 512 (Valedictorian)
Rigorous AP Classes

Test Scores:
2130 SAT Score ACT-didn't take
680 CR
740 Math
710 Writing

Only took math subject test (subject tests aren't required, but a math and a science are recommended)
Math II Subject Test (690)-disappointing
I realize engineers need high math test scores and I scored poorly here :(

ECs:
Soccer in HS all 4 years (1 award sophomore year)
Track and Field in HS 2 years
Tae Kwon Do for 10 years (various trophies in competition)
Club Soccer for 10 years
NHS (4 years)
JSA (2 years)
Volunteering Club at my school (all 4 years)
Volunteer at a hospital (50 hrs)
Volunteer at a local community service (45 hrs)
Food Bank (20 hrs)

ehhhhh. ucla is a bit of a reach, especially b/c you also don’t have a science subject test at all. depending on your income bracket, ucla is probably mid reach. ucb is high reach–their eecs program is extremely competitive. ucsd is probably a match.

If you weren’t applying for Computer Engineering I would say you have a 90%+ chance of getting in, but now it’s more like 70%. Still, you’re a CA Resident and UCs care more about GPA than standardized testing scores. Good luck my man.

How can your UC GPA be 4.0 if you’ve gotten straight A’s with AP classes? Should be >4.0. If it is 4.0, then I would say mid reach. If it’s 4.3, low reach.

Haha we’re applying for the same major. Chance back?
