UCLA buz/econ transfer advice needed

I am about to be a second year student at UCSD majoring in Economics and switching to Management Science in the Fall quarter. I am looking to transfer to UCLA either biz/econ or econ major.
My current GPA is 3.7 and my transfer GPA is 3.8. I have completed all the pre-reqs except the Managerial Accounting class which i will take during Fall.

I m wondering what my chances are if I apply as Biz/econ or should I apply as a Econ major. Also whether its better to apply as a Econ major or management science major. And anything else that i can do to help my chances.

I will have my GE's completed by the coming Fall semester and will load up on Upper div. classes.

you have to pick either econ, business economics, or economics/international studies when you apply

biz econ… the school looks like its on a shift towards math/econ(like every other ivy league in the nation) or a more math based requirement.

thank you.

How do you think i chance applying as a biz/econ with my stats so far.

Is Math/Econ a good major in terms of job prospects if your going into a field of business?

is econ easier to get into rather that biz-econ??

they both are equally hard, there are statistics on the admissions page. its hard in the sense that there is such a strong pool of applicants with good gpas so you need to do good in your prereqs

what is an easier major to get into that could be related to biz or econ?

if you want to do something related to econ, there isn’t any really, because a lot of people apply as econ, bus econ, or international econ majors, just maintain a good gpa in your prereqs and write a good essay

how is 3.7?

[Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2009 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof09_mjr.htm)

gauge your chances by looking at that. just get some more good grades and finish your prereqs and igetc, you have a good chance, you are close to the average

You are doing well, i suggest you stay at UCSD and finish up there. Priority considerations in the system wide transfer process is given to community college transfers (approximately 90% of all admissions). The average gpa for Business Economics for UCLA was 3.87 this past fall. Your stats indicate that you are doing great in your major, so unless you really want to live in Los Angeles, i recommend that you finish up at UCSD, since you are already comfortable there. You will be able to find a job out of UCSD, so do not worry about that. As far as Math- Econ at UCLA, you cannot switch to Econ or Biz Econ upon acceptance because math-econ is associated with the math department here at UCLA. Good luck to you.
