I got waitlisted as well. I will be adding a little blurb, and hopefully everything will work out! Good luck to you all!
They already know that everyone who accepted the weight list offer wants to go to their school, I think solid facts like mid year grades might be better. However at this point you never know!!
Oh wow interesting
I shall take that into consideration
waitlisted student here! i never thought i was at all qualified for the likes of ucla, and although this is no offer of admission, i’m still so happy it wasn’t a rejection. best of luck to all of us taking spots on the waiting list!!
While I’m glad I didn’t get rejected, I’m pretty upset haha. Thought all that time we put in would matter, guess not
I was also waitlisted, It feels very bittersweet in my opinion because I thought I would be rejected. This is like part 2 of the application ughh
Honestly haha, we’ve already been waiting almost 5 months lol. I did EA for MIT which I was hoping would keep me patient. I was deferred that first time, so my patience is actually gone. Obviously, I’ll be opting-in though because it can do nothing but help. Anybody know what to write with a 7,000 character limit?
Where did you get these stats @gumbymom ?
@Supriseme12345:
I got the stats from Ms Sun’s UC Blog for 2014/2015. No posted stats for 2016 and they are not listed on the UCLA’s common dataset either. Several schools do list their waitlist stats on their common dataset but not the majority of UC’s.

Here are the waitlist stats for all UC’s for 2014 and 2015. If anyone can find these stats for 2016, please share.
There’s literally 7,000 characters available in the optional “additional comments” section for people who got waitlisted I’m pretty sure it wont hurt students to take advantage of that
Waitlisted here, and while I didn’t want to get my hopes up, I was a little bit surprised. I thought my scores would get me in, but I guess I lacked on EC’s
SAT: 2360
UW GPA: 4.0
UCGPA: 4.44 (I think?)
SAT Math 2: 770
SAT Chem: 680
AP: Calc AB- 5, Calc BC- 5, English Lang.- 5, Psychology- 5, Chem.- 3
Major: Cognitive Science
And I’m instate.
Crossing my fingers for Berkeley though. They asked me for letters of rec. which is meant to be a good sign so I can hope.
Waitlisted- I was pretty surprised I wasn’t rejected.
Cognitive Sciences
1290 new SAT
4.12 ish UC GPA
10 AP classes taken in total w/ 3’s on ones taken thus far except psych-4
In-State
Officer of 2 clubs
over 300 volunteer hours
Accepted: UCD (biomed), UCI (cs), UCSD (cog sci)
Rejected: SLO
@slpoce10an I’m hoping for Berkeley too. The only thing about the waitlist that bothers me is the added anticipation :((
Where is the “additional comments” section? Do you have to opt-in to the waitlist first and then the comments section becomes available? All I see is the yes or no box right now.
you need to click yes and the box will appear right below it!
@Ramenous I’m waiting on Berkeley too! I’m really hoping for it over USC and Emory (the last ones I’m waiting for)! But I don’t think my chances are high because I got rejected from UChicago and BostonU :((
Best of luck to you!!!
Thank you @lilavocado!
Does anyone know if we can still get the Alumni scholarship even if we’re waitlisted? (It’s probably a dumb question, but I’m curious, especially since I spent so much time on it)
I got waitlisted also!
I was extremely disappointed. I am completely sure that my application and essays were amazing, its just that my SAT and ACT scores were low! ugh. But its ok since I still have a chance of getting in. Does anyone know that waitlist admit rate, and how big the waitlist pool is?
SAT old version: 1490, then 1690
New version; 1210
ACT :26.
I also included my grades and an unincluded SAT subject test score for Chemistry of 670.
Good Luck to everyone! Hope they reply to us haha!
