@hiyahiya123 I just wasn’t sure if anyone already did…
when did instaters start hearing back in previous years?
@nry1141 wasnt trying to be mean, was just saying. ive called before they said that not everything has been released yet, four days ago. but i dont want to spam them
Hi everyone, my son is on waitlist too (IS with EE major. I am tried of waiting and just put a call to Admission office and asked. Couple points would like to share with you all… I was told Ucla has always been offering more than the state funded number of in state students. OOS and IS students are in separate pools. They will only be able to admit a very limited numbers off the waitlist. The time line will be till 6/1. They will send out emails to all rejects at the end to check on the portal for updated news. In the past, they were able to accommodate housing for those even accepted after 5/15.
With this phone call, I think I would not give too high hope on my son getting in with them. Anyway, just want to share with you all… and good luck to all of you.
looks like no wave came out today… sigh
@mamimami Although the University claims to close the waitlist by June 1, they usually keep it open longer in order to better accomodate seats for those that cancel their SIR, or choose to attend another institution.
Btw, I m just curious on the waitlist student profile on Engineering major, if u guys don’t mind to share. My son’s :
GPA - 4.58
ACT - 34
AP - 10 classes ( incl 5 AP classes in progress).
Extra Curr- average in club activity, president/founder in a club, National junior awards in sports .
Also …
National merit finalist
True…
They always accept more instate students vs international or OOS wether it be in general admissions or in waitlist so I’m so confused as to why basically no one in state has heard anything yet
@cheerxoxo1999 OOS and IS applicants are viewed as separate pools. If the yield for the IS applicants was high in the original distribution of acceptance letters, the waitlist would offer admission to very few in state applicants. If the yield for the OOS applicants was lower than IS applicants, OOS applicants would be offered more waitlist acceptances.
will there be a wave tmrw…
Did anyone who got weightlisted have a 30 ACT? Just wondering because that’s what I have right now and I would LOVE to go to UCLA. But it’s super competitive so you never know
@uclabound2017? Yeah I see what you mean I was just basing it off of stats that I haven seen from previous wait list results
@kt1215 i did but it doesn’t mean shit without an acceptance
@FlapDragon I guess that’s true… but hey! Weightlisted is still great! Especially at a school like UCLA. And you still don’t know whether or not you got in right?
@kt1215 I was admitted with a 31. Not exactly a 30, but my score definitely nowhere near the top 75% percentile.
didnt the deadline for the 1st wave passed?
hopefully i will walk out of my ap calc bc exam tmrw morning seeing instates wave come out
around what date and time is the next wave expected? also, any engineering applicants got off the waitlist yet?
I realize that we all ask questions without getting answers!!!
