UCLA chances w/ decenty stats

I just got all my scores back and I'm wondering what're my chances of getting into UCLA my ec's and SATIIs aren't great and I live in-state

GPA
top 5%
10-11 its 4.31 gpa weighted and UW 3.78
capped its 4.18 W

SAT - 2120 (760 reading, 680 on math and writing)

SAT2s:
Bio M: 660
Math 2: 640
US History: 710

APs:
5 - US History
5 - Euro History
1 - Physics :(

ECs:
2 years oceans/science bowl
3 years science olympiad
100ish hrs community service (church/make a wish club)
Vice Prez of Make A Wish
1 year class council

normally I wouldn't ask but I've been hearing wild stories of people with 4.2s and 2200s being rejected from UCLA - thanks in advance

damn
a 1 on physics, i dont think itll effect u that much, i would say ur a match, but iono anything can happen

The UCs only count the sophomore and junior years, and they cap the honors courses at 8 semester hours. They also exclude PE, Health, and Teacher Asst/Lab Asst courses.

Please tell me if your GPAs listed take this into account. (You say 10-12, but I think you mean 10-11).

Presuming this is the case, I'd say you're a match.

ah thanks for the heads up i've edited it to reflect that

UCLA's stats for attendees in 2006 were around 3.87 U/W GPA with 4.17 W GPA--SAT Is of 620/670/650, and SAT IIs of around 680/670 (they only count the top two), so your stats are in the ballpark if you also are taking tough courses in both the freshman and senior years (which are considered indirectly) and if the essay is good.

Like I said, you appear to be a match at UCLA (my alma mater). It's a great school, so I'm glad you picked it.

thanks a lot that makes me feel a lot better, i can enjoy my summer more now!

stukast1:

UCLA: Slight Reach

Okay people on these boards make it seem like you can't get in anywhere unless you have perfect stats.

On the UC website UCLA's gpa was 4.12 and the Sat was 2003. You are higher in both categories so I'm going to say that you get in.

I'm going to have to recheck my stats--I had 4.17 W GPA and around 1940 SATs--you say 4.12 and SAT 2003. I'm a little high on one and a little lower on the other compared to your numbers (pretty close on both)--but I'm wondering if I'm looking at acceptances or registered students stats. (I thought I was looking at registered students' numbers).

Do you have the link to the website you're quoting from?--I'd like to make sure I've got my statistics correct.

P.S. We're both saying match, so there's no disagreement there.

Thanks, College!*!--I really appreciate it. (Looks like I picked up the Berkeley number by mistake--for the GPA, that is)
