Hi I was wondering what my chances for UCLA are, if not any reputable California schools as suggestions would be nice?
I wanna get in for engineering, and am part indian, and live in virginia
GPA: 3.6 W

Ap Course by the end of senior year:
Ab calc
Bc calc
ap world
ap us
ap gov
ap chem
ap physics

Sports/Clubs by the end of senior year:
Varsity Tennis (2 years)
Boy's State
6 years TARC Rocketry Team Leader
100 hours of volunteer for the Wildlife Conservatory/Library
3rd place school(regional?) science fair

Worked at STEM Camp

Sat
740 math
640 reading
610 writing
TOTAL:1990

Act
24 english
33 math
30 reading
30 science
TOTAL:29

The GPA and ACT are both too low for UCLA. It would take excellent ECs to make up for them. So I’d have to say UCLA would be a reach for you

I’d say reach. While UCLA is heavily GPA weighted, a good SAT score can make up for it. I’d try for 2200+ to make it a math; it’s a reach otherwise.

I’d agree that the consensus is a reach. Your GPA and ACT are too low, but not substantially so. Keep working on getting A’s to bring the GPA up, and try to get a 32 on the ACT or around a 2200 on the SAT. Do those things, and these would be a match.

Chance me back?

What about for another school, such as UC Davis?

I got accepted this year.

I had a 89 average last year (don’t know what that is in GPA, I go to a Canadian school)
2060 SAT score

I wrote a hell of a essay in my opinion, I got a lot of professionals who I know that looked over it. It seems to me that your grades are good, pour your effort in to the essays! They do count!
