I applied as a Biz.Econ major (Regular Econ alternate), and I finished all but one Accounting class thats apparently required, and I wont be able to do it before spring. Will I still get accepted for fall, and if not then maybe atleast winter 09? And if I get rejected can I take that accounting class in summer and appeal, if i do, what are my chances of getting in? And finally, if I get rejected from Biz. Econ, will I be considered for my alternate major Econ, which I've completed all the required classes for with straight A's?

Can you see the financial aid summary on your URSA?

wrong thread, please reply with relevance

We need more info on you. Also UCLA does not accept winter transfers outside the college on Engineering. No you can not appeal if you take the course over the summer. And UCLA does not consider an alternative major unless you completed the TAP program.

mikoaper, Hongda's reply is relevant to your situation since people who can see their financail aid info are pretty much in... meaning if you can see yours, you are in and it didnt matter that you didnt complete all ur prereqs

how do i check that?

No one can really tell you with certainty if you will be admitted/rejected. Other than that, impacted programs such a Biz Econ. require the completion of as many pre-reqs as possible. I guess it just depends on the competition whether admissions will be forgiving. don't worry, I'm in the same boat. I'm currently taking my last 3 pre-reqs.

Anyway, you will only be considered for an alternate major if you are TAP certified. Hopes this helps somewhat.

go there https://www.ursa.ucla.edu/Default.asp
open an New Student account and then log in. check you financial aid summary.

don't forget to tell us what you see.

First, you get your nine digit UCLA Student Number from your application

Then, go to https://www.ursa.ucla.edu/Default.asp

Create new logon/password

OK, when you are creating a new account, make sure you select
New UCLA Student (including admitted applicants)

Do not select the last choice that is for applicants

The rest is self explanatory

After you are logged in,

check View Financial Aid Awards and Summary on URSA,

if you can see the info, grats r u basically in if u cant see it like me, well its time to start praying

**** I didnt select new ucla student, I chose the last option, what do i do now? do i have to just wait the old fashioned way? and will this affect me in the future?

LOL I guess i wasnt clear enough?? but anyway, I did the same thing the first time and I just made a new account selecting new student

ya i just did that, but the thing is, i didnt apply for financial aid or anything cause i dont need it, so what now? and what is this ursa thing, am i gonna need it for the future?

What does it say when you click,

View Financial Aid Awards and Summary on URSA

nice to see that when someone tries to help you blow them off like a dick

well i choose the academic period 07-08, and when i click it, it says "You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period."

mikoaper, check academic period 08-09

what can you see, mikoaper?

Just, a little question..what if someone clicked another option besides "new student" before receiving the 9 digit number on the application...do you think that would have any affect on whether or not you can see ur finaid stuff?

i see the same thing for 08-09, just You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period.

You have to notify them that you are doing it during summer. That's what my friend is doing.. I think it's fine as long as they know.
