According to the official UCLA website ([UCLA Office of Analysis and Information Management | AIM](http://www.aim.ucla.edu/admissions/admissions.asp)), the admittance rate for 2010 was 22.7% (13,088 of 57,670). Since UCLA is reporting that over 61,000 applied but the enrollment will be kept the same, we should assume that they probably admitted about the same number thinking that the yield rate is about the same. This would mean that UCLA accepted about 13,000 students which would be a 21.4% acceptance rate for 2011. Roughly speaking 1 of 5 applicants got accepted.

For the 2010 UCLA freshmen class, the SAT 25/75 profile was 1780/2110. This is different from the applicant stat, but still a good indicator. Also, we must remember that the UCs report SATs differently from the privates. UCLA takes the SAT score from one sitting and not composites scores from multiple sittings so it will “appear” somewhat lower than lower ranking privates.

Talking with an admissions counselor, we found that EC does play a major role in their decision making. They do attempt to take a holistic approach to vetting applicants. Also, two admissions counselor look at each application for some accountability. There is still some randomness about it as the different counselors may weigh certain ECs and essays differently.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted.

And I wanted to also congratulate all who got accepted! We worked really hard and someone saw something in us that made them feel we are fit for UCLA! Although I am a bit sad because my girlfriend was rejected from UCLA… but I guess if you care enough about your education, a rejection letter shouldn’t bring you down. She got accepted to UC Irvine, so she might be going there. :]

Rejected D: But i kinda expected it

All of my friends were rejected as well, even when they’re extremely qualified. I think like 7 people got in in my school (most of them were top 10 people)
