I liked them, not incredible writing but unique, true, and I believe very reflective of what makes me who I am.

Congratulations to everyone who got in! I’m pretty disappointed, but I guess it wasn’t to be. If anyone has any reaction for me, I welcome it.

@Lilliana330 of course, and I’m sure they want to go, otherwise they wouldn’t apply, I’m guessing bitterness has just gotten to some people.

Alright, so now I have some time to reply and post my stats:

Again, congratulations to those who got in! And if you got rejected with great stats, it’s NOT the end of the road! You’ll get in somewhere good! (I got waitlisted at UVa, so I know the feeling!)

accepted!
4.636 GPA
2210 SAT

I didn’t get in either.
4.00 UC Gpa
1900 Sat
Amazing ECs
Global studies major.

@CollegeBound1216 LOL no bitterness here  There a reason why I was rejected & it’s because God didn’t want me there. Simple as that. Already have other options + pretty sure that more will come in. Happy for everyone accepted -they all deserve it! :)

Edit: Why do I keep tagging myself by accident lololol

Got wait listed with these stats:
Major: Biomed. Engineering or Biochem
ACT: 35
GPA UW: 3.98
W: 4.68
SAT II: 780
CHEM: 760
I though my essays were pretty good.
Extracurriculars include volunteering as a City Commissioner and tutor (400+ hours over past two years)
National team member for Men’s Field Hockey, competed to qualify for olympics.
Varsity Tennis Captain.
School Club involvement.
Conducted scientific research projects at CLU and competed in science fair and won awards at the fair.

I was also accepted into Berkeley for regents consideration.

I liked UCLA a lot and was disappointed and a little confused to hear that I had been wait listed. Any thoughts on what was wrong with my app?

I will probably appeal the decision but I was a little confused regarding my wait list decision, not to sound conceited or anything.

I would really appreciate any responses and congrats to everyone who has been accepted!!

Daughter got waitlisted for UCLA. So UCI nursing, here she comes!

@Lilliana330 Oh man I wasn’t referring to you! lol but yeah there’s a reason for everything of course, everyone who got in deserved it, good luck to you!

@CollegeBound1216 Oops, sorry lol. Awkward. Thanks, good luck on any decisions left! :)

@JedWilliamVCRD @Dannyb223 Honestly, you both have awesome stats and are bound to be accepted elsewhere. I think the biggest thing is that you applied Biomed Engineering, which happens to be one of the most difficult majors to be accepted into. I got into UCLA for Biochemistry but got denied from Cal Poly SLO for Biomed Engineering though I know several people who got into SLO with far lower stats than I did. I really think it’s a matter of major especially for California schools

Keep looking up, one college decision doesn’t define you!

My daughter was accepted!

3.77 UW GPA, 4.18 GPA W, 2140 SAT, ECs including volunteering for kids arts programs, at our local park summer camp, school water polo and swimming.

I believe what helped her were two college courses she took: BYU online computer science (which took care of her HS semester long computer requirement) and an “A” in a Physics class with lab at a local JC (which allowed her to take another AP class her senior year).

I told her before she knew that she would do great regardless of where she wound up. I believe that is true for everyone, so regardless of where you go, embrace your experience and take it for all it’s worth!!

@Dannyb223

I think if you had taken SAT II Bio, it would’ve helped. Great ECs and very similar stats to mine so I’m puzzled why you weren’t at least waitlisted. I was accepted for bioengineering btw. Are you a CA resident? And honestly, don’t worry. BME is one of the most competitive majors, let alone for engineering.

Accepted! Congrats to everyone else as well

Plus six Senior AP Classes yet to be tested

Essays:
They were good, but I don’t have a hardship that I overcame. Told it like it is. I work hard to get good grades. I also know it wasn’t my best essay ‘cause I made the decision to apply while on visiting other schools on the deadline date.

Strategy: I was guaranteed a spot at a UC (Top 9% of CA students) so I only applied to UCLA.

Truth: I can go out-of-state to top public universities with far less student and parent debt thanks to some OOS tuition waivers and guaranteed scholarships. But I do have a lot of friends at UCLA and it is near home…

Decision: Accepted

[li] Why you think you were accepted/wait listed/denied: Essays were very well-written and relevant.
