i am still waiting and i also submitted additional essays as requested

@kingja200 Did you apply for the nursing program, you said you submitted additional essays?

@kingja200, this isnt for the separate schools. its for the borderline/??? applicants

There is a difference between Supplemental Application and Supplemental Information, they are totally different than each other. (People confuse between them a lot. because they are both for freshman students.)

-Supplemental Application is an Additional form filled out when it comes to applying for school of nursing, filming or engineering etc… This supplemental application is a linking separate application than the UC application that you normally submit in November, so when you apply to the school of nursing or filming, they require you to fill out an additional application to be considered for admission to this particular (competitive) school.

-Supplemental Information is a request sent from the UC campus to the applicant, asking them to provide additional Information (Additional information, NOT Application) to help them evaluate your application and make a final decision on your admission. This is a Questionnaire that is sent to people who tend to be Borderline, Having a disability or Extraordinary Hardship/talent. However they want these people to elaborate more on their
information that’s mentioned in their UC application. If you get the supplement that means they are considering on admitting you (highly interested in you), but they are looking for something to convince them and Learn more about Who You Are. the supplemental information that you provide to them will help your evaluation in a positive way. Those who received it, MAJORITY end up being admitted because this UC gave them a chance to fight for their spot.

.

@yoyo1995,

Wow! Great post. Thank you for that information. It was extremely helpful and it also gave me a lot of hope for this month and decisions. I took the supplement extraordinarily seriously so I do hope it pays off. Thanks again!

@bruin2018 You are very Welcome. Yea, I mean those who get the supplement and don’t end up getting admitted, its because either they did not bother to fill it out (since its optional) or did not take it seriously or gave Inappropriate information, and that is when a student end up being rejected even with the supplement. But if you done what you are suppose to do, then You shouldn’t worry. Good luck for you!

What was your circumstance? did you have any abnormal experience that you shared? ( I mean like in your application)… also, What do you think got them to be interested in you?

@bruin2018 I hope we both get in! And of course, everyone else who filled out the supplement! I think if we both did, that would be amazing!

How do you know that the majority end up being admitted, @yoyo1995? I read somewhere on Mrs. Sun’s blog that the stats for UC Berkeley were posted a few years ago. ~20-25% got admitted with the supplemental from UC Berkeley.
Just wondering. :)

@agreatperhaps13 Honestly, I really don’t know much about UC Berkeley, but Whatever I mentioned was according to UCLA, When my Instructor (UCLA Alum) and I, gathered information stating that somewhere from 50% to 80% is the acceptance rate for the supplement students, Which is much greater than the normal UCLA acceptance rate, so meaning that the majority had a hot shot! And it does vary from year to year, so truly it is Unpredictable! ( the reason could be because Berkeley is a tougher school, but dunno why UCB is lower)

Wishing luck for all!

So two more weeks and Decisions come out! The wait make you anxious!! If we all get in here on this forum we gonna celebrate! lol

i am not applying for nursing and i am borderline

i’m an international student, also got the supplemental questionnaires. does anyone know the chances of international student getting in UCLA?

@Dani2006

As long as you get the supplemental questionnaire that means you have a good chance, whether International, Out of state or California Resident it does not matter, what matters is that how you perform in answering these questions and your recent senior year stats (since they ask for 1st sem. senior grades).

Now, according to international students in general, (with and without supplemental) the chances are based on the very INDIVIDUAL basis, But chances are Not higher than California residents, since they are given priority. So it depends on your status individually and need to have them interested in you. Cuz sometimes high stats people still get denied, So its beyond numbers (GPA, Grades and Scores), Your essays and application have to grab the reader. Its really Unpredictable. Good luck to u tho!

I got one too! I am crossing my fingers. Good luck to everyone.

How many here are Cali residents who got the supp?? any hands up !?

I did!

@yoyo1995 I am a California resident who got the supplement for UCLA.

Cool! Wer almost there!

@yoyo1995 Wow, okay! Thanks for your response! :)

What if we did not receive the supplementary questionnaire ? Am i booed off?
