Fingers crossed on UCLA !!!

Hi everyone,

My D (who has withdrawn her other apps because she was accepted ED to Duke), just received her email from UCLA yesterday (12/16/14) acknowledging receipt of her application. She submitted her UC apps on 11/1/14 and they were āforwardedā to each campus on 11/4/14 according to the UC application website. So, it takes quite some time to hear back any confirmation at all from the UC schools even regarding an application account. She is OOS.

I donāt know if this has been posted elsewhere, but last year UCLA released Freshman decisions on Friday, 3/21/14, and transfer decisions on Friday, 4/18/14. Itās reasonable to expect similar dates this year. Good luck to everyone!

@AttorneyMother - Congrats to your D on Duke, fabulous school, nice early Christmas present for the whole family!

Does anyone know if getting into UCās are harder for out-of-staters? Cuz I mean I would think they would want the extra tuition from OOS given their current debt conditionsā¦right??

See the first table
@uclabound1ā Wowā¦thatās a pretty big difference. Iām an international, so I guess I donāt have that much of an advantage.
I am going down the business track, with interest in also international relations and music!
I am applying for engineering at UCLA and also at Berkeley, San Diego and Davis campuses.
@Ninopediaā Yeah, same, international here too! At leaast UCLA doesnāt have a single digit acceptance rate lol
Where are you all applying besides UCLA?
For me besides ucla theres Berkeley, USC, Uva, UNC chapel hill, umiami, penn state, uconn, emory, notre dame, cornell, harvard lol its alot i know
Iām applying to a lot of colleges too. UCLA and Uchicago are my top schools
I applied to Berkeley too!
Ughhhh I cant wait for March 20!
Canāt wait to find out my decision. Hopefully I will be studying business, just got into UVA so Iām hoping to get a similar response! Good luck to everyone.
As an out of stater how should i fair in UCLA, Berk, and Santa Barbara having gotten a 2000 on my SATās (750 math, 630 reading, 620 writing) with a 4.25 weighted and 3.8 unweighted having taken 10 Ap/college courses getting 4/5s on all the tests and all of the rest of my courses but one being an honors course, and getting only 4 Bās throughout all of high school. Many extracurriculars and a 3 year varsity baseball starter. HELP
@cferrera13 UCSB is probably close to a lock ( although it is getting harder to get into now ) UCLA and UC Berk are up in the air, maybe, maybe not impossible to predict.
Hey guys,Iāve applied to UCLA but when I logged into the applicant portal - i couldnt see anything except āapplication receivedā and expected release of result date. Can you guys see your scores/other profile info?
i donāt see anything else. I donāt even see an expected release of result date, whereās that?
@engineeringfashionista It isnāt an exact date - in that paragraph below the āapplication receivedā , it says that they will release decisions by late march
