***UCLA CLASS OF 2019 APPLICANT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@beatstanford‌ I found these posts on an a two year old thread. The information could definitely be outdated by now
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/1458538-ucla-alumni-scholarship-invitation-p1.html

@uclabound1 - Thanks for the link to the thread. Hopefully having received the email invitation is a positive sign.

But have any of the OOS applicants on this thread received the Regents invitation?

@ackack‌ I haven’t and I’m OOS

Just to clarify, does the email that is titled “UCLA Out-of-State Alumni Scholarships - Be Part of a Legacy” indicate the same as the other alumni scholarships, in that it is offered to the top 10% of applicants? In the email it is clear that it is an invitation to apply.

Hey, @uclabound1 and others who have received these invitations to apply, would you mind posting some stats?
The fact that I’ve not gotten an invite and that record number of applicants article are making extra worried about my chances.

That is the “Alumni Scholarship” email, which is debatably a good thing to have received. In prior years, this has been sent to top 5% of applicants. Someone said, anecdotally, that she’d heard of a lot of recipients this year, but I think that others confirmed they had not received the email. If you register to apply, the pull-down menu cues you to indicate whether you received a phone call, a postcard, an email, or nothing. This tends to suggest that it is a good thing. Phone call or postcard would definitely have been better, but this is a nice sign. Absolutely no guarantee of admission.

Alright, thanks for the clarification. I received the invitation to apply, 34 ACT, 3.96 UW GPA.

Stats: 2200 SAT, 4.0 UW, 4.41 W UC GPA

Dayumm dudes, good job! International applicant here, do you know if I might get an invitation too?

Got an invite in Florida (Top 10%, 34 ACT, AP 8 5s and 2 4s). Are we 100% sure the alumni email is actually good thing?? Or is it just a mass email?

When do decisions come out

@ayetee123‌ I read somewhere deep on the website that decision notification date is March 21st… But I can’t find the link…

One more month everyone!!!

does anyone know when the decisions are released?

@dontdodrugs I think my end of March!

@dontdodrugs‌ I found a thread in the general admission forums with all the decision notification dates for all colleges based on previous dates and dates stated on college sites and it said that UCLA might be March 21st after 5 P.M. I don’t know if this is for real or if the 5 P.M. is Pacific or Eastern time.

hey guys I’m sorry if you already discussed this but when are decisions going to come out? or around when?

last year they came out on march 20. that’s basically our only hint :frowning:

@nat97xo thanks so much for answering
