@Foodlover228579 Wow we are pretty much the same person haha. I got into San Diego for Biology (didn’t apply to Davis), got an alumni scholarship invite from UCLA, and a LOR request from Berkeley.
(also #1000th post on this thread! )
@Foodlover228579 @ashleyucla2021 I got into Davis (Didn’t apply to UCSD), got the alumni scholarship invite from UCLA, and the LOR request from Berkeley. I’m so confused too! trying not to over think it. Maybe our stats are on the higher end for UCLA and we’re borderline for Berkeley? Although iv’e also heard that the LOR requests are pretty random.
I am very nervous for UCLA and UCB decisions, I got into UCSB(chancellors invite) and I also got into UCSD. I am applying to the college of letters and science at UCB. I got a 31 on the ACT (20 english,34 science, 34 reading, 29 math) and 1390 on the SAT(760 math, 630 english). 4.66 GPA(10-12) including only first semester of senior year, 15 hr/week job since sophomore year, 4 years of varsity track, 3 years varsity cross country, 1 year of JV soccer and over 100 hours of community service. What do you guys think? Do I have a chance?
btw I am in-state
@heyaaaa It’s really unpredictable especially when it comes to the UC’s but from your stats it seems very likely that you’ll get into either UCLA or UCB. Good luck; I’m so nervous too.
@USUG21 @kirsten4624 Alright - thanks for the reply!
17th is so far away, yet so near - you know what I mean? If I get rejected, i would have a heart attack, but I would have one even if I was accepted so reaaaaally nervous right now! :-S
Good luck to everyone who applied!
So the Engineering likely letter is a for sure acceptance or is there still a possibility of rejection because I don’t want to get too excited for a rejection
In the case that you’re admitted, what unweighted GPA must you maintain in your senior year so that your acceptance isn’t rescinded?
@jaquabert This is from the UCLA FAQ page
Q: I RECEIVED A D GRADE IN THE FALL SEMESTER … OR…
I AM THINKING OF DROPPING A CLASS….
A: If the course schedule you gave us on your application changes, if you receive any grade lower than C, or if your senior year unweighted GPA drops below 3.0, you should notify us right away. We will review these changes in the context of your overall record and let you know whether they affect your admission. You may be required to take additional classes in the summer, or in some cases, your offer of admission can be withdrawn. Generally, the sooner you let us know of changes, the more options you will have.
@coffee1999 that’s what people are saying. I got the likely letter too, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
@InfiniteLibrary thanks!
@coffee1999 Yea, somewhere on CC, I read likely letters are just what their name says - they are likely, not certain. You have a excellent chance but you’ll know for sure only on the 17th.
Are my chances of getting in significantly lower if I don’t get a likely letter or the engineering openhouse invite? Or is that only sent to the very top applicants?
@CompSci99 Some people said it’s only for the top 25% roughly, so there’s still about 75% of applicants who get admitted without those letters.
@vasodys top 25% as in top 25% of admitted students, not top 25% of applicants right?
Does anyone think that it’s bad to apply to both UCLA and Berkeley? I know people say UC’s can’t see the other UC’s you applied to but I feel like they can.
@tem339 Why would it be bad?
@CompSci99 Not sure, but probably top 25% of applicants because even those with letters need not be admitted.
@CompSci99 I think it’s 25% of admitted applicants, not sure though.
@tem339 The UCs can’t see each other’s applicants, and still it wouldn’t be bad to apply to more than one UC since even their application is unified and allows you to send it to multiple universities.
