UCLA CLASS OF 2021 APPLICANT THREAD

@transmitter2342 OMG SAME like I literally had a dream where I got into UCSD, UCLA, and UCB. I almost cried when I woke up…

I received an email on March 10th with the subject “Save The Date - Discover UCLA Engineering”. Also, amongst other things this was mentioned “We have received your application to UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science and I want to commend you on your fine work in high school.” Is this it?

@Biryani2017 Yup! :slight_smile: Congrats

Is the likely letter only for engineering?

yea, but only very few for engineering

Thanks @potato16 !!

IM SO NERVOUS! I received a supplemental request, but my stats are very low for UCLA standards, so I was surprised they even considered me! Only one other person from my school got the request, so I think one of the spots will be between us! I got rejected from SD and theoretically if I got in to UCLA, this would be my number one. A girl can dream though

OMG!Only one day left!

This is gonna be the crazy doomsday!

I can’t wait! Luckily time passed really fast till now :slight_smile: One day left!

@kassyD I got in for EE.
UW: 4.0
Weighted Uncapped:4.68
UC GPA: 4.4
Act 31
Sat 2020
3 subject tests all high 700s

@10s4life Would someone with similar stats get in for CS?

@vasodys highly unlikely. If you look at the UCLA engineering statistics last year, the acceptance rate for EE was 22.1%. However, the acceptance rate for CS was just 10.3%. That’s a massive gap. CS is way more competitive than EE.

@messiisgod123 That’s fair. My stats are higher though so hoping for the best.

@messiisgod123 also, where did you find those statistics. I can’t seem to find them

@vasodys Sure, check the following link out:
http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/seasoasa/UCEE-Report-1.pdf

haha shoot i applied for cs and my grades are so subpar it’s not even funny

should have just gone with linguistics instead : //

@messiisgod123 thanks!

@Faultystart same though :confused: looking at those stats I should’ve applied as materials engineering instead of undecided Engineering :,( ugh I’m so mad at myself for not doing this research before I applied

Just found out that the acceptace rate for Mech Eng last year was under 10%…
