For poly sci you should be a shoe in
When are we expecting the result?
Friday @charizard1234
To be clear- it is likely that it will be posted next friday at 5pm PST?
hi all, i started the alumni scholarship application, and i don’t know if i’ll have time to finish filling it out. is not filling it out detrimental to my application at this point?
@gobluealum To my knowledge decisions will be posted Friday around 5. It will be via a portal update. Emails will lag the actual decision
@kawakuri It has nothing to do with admissions chances if you fill or not fill it out. If it did have an effect, it would be too late as all decisions have been made at this point for the most part. Good luck on Friday!
@10s4life How sure are you about Friday? Is this confirmed somewhere?
@visigoth I’m pretty sure but they won’t tell us the exact date as that is something that isn’t disclosed.
@visigoth @10s4life Is there a legit explanation for all the secrecy surrounding the decision date? I’m sure there’s a reason, but just wondering.
If Davis rejected me, does that mean my UCLA chances are stomped? UC GPA Uncapped: 4.05 or 4.13 idk exactly, ACT 33, Essays easily an 8/10 for all of em, worked with someone who had been helping with essays for 20 years, and lots of EC’s
@stevensonjj0 There is actually. There are two main reasons why UCLA does not confirm decision dates.
If UCLA said “On March 16th we will release decisions at 5pm”
- If decisions were for some reason postponed then you have 120k very upset freshman applicants and their families. UCLA will get so many phone calls and emails regarding it.
- Having a specific date means more than likely everyone will check at the same time. The “surprise” release already results in the servers crashing. Imagine if everyone knew exactly what time decisions would come out, then it would be chaotic on the servers.
@jj1999 I’m sorry to hear about your rejection. There is no straightforward answer to your question. Each UC has their own admission processes when dealing with all the UC criteria. While a rejection from UC Davis does not necessarily mean you will get rejected from UCLA there is some correlation with getting into multiple UCs. You will have to wait until decisions come out as you never know what may happen. Hang in there!
@10s4life Thanks. I’m just really worried
During this final week before decisions are released - Is UCLA still reading applications and making decisions for the last few remaining applications they haven’t read yet?
Does the Alumni Association see your UC Application? By that I mean am I allowed to reuse my essays for the Alumni Application?
10s4life is doing a great job representing UCLA. Your info is greatly appreciated. When my daughter applied for UCLA 2 year ago, I often monitored this board for information. Deja vu, I am doing the same as son is waiting for another decision. Thank you.
@collegedreamer167 At this point you can bet that all applications have been read. The final week has more to do with enrollment management
what day and time do we think decisions will come out? oos ct
@ggirl2288 This Friday sometime before 5pm. If not this Friday it will for sure be the next Friday.
