UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

@bogeyorpar So are you saying that theres a highly likely chance that I’ll be admitted along with a chance for Regents? I looked at the questionaire as if I was a borderline applicant for admission not Regents.

I just imagined myself getting rejected from ucla on friday and literally huge drops of tears fell down my face. I’m so sad and depressed.

@peppermint0103 Don’t feel that way though. You may never know. Just stay confident. I feel like someway, but just try your best to stay positive.

Do I even have a chance?
UW GPA: 4.0
W GPA: 4.29 capped and around 4.5-4.6 uncapped (not 100% sure)
ACT: 28 (1 question away from a 29 so frustrating)
ECs and essays are solid in my opinion
Really worried… applied for sociology major btw

Got into Davis btw

hahaha @peppermint0103 your comment made me laugh. But i feel the same way. I can’t sleep and had a dream I got denied. I woke up crying. Is this a sign?

I see myself dying in my nightmares… I am still alive? Relax… @soletrain4thewin

@collgestrss What I meant is if you are above the 75th percentile of the admits then you can be fairly confident the odds are in your favor you will be admitted. That means you have a greater than 50% chance of admission.

I know it’s a stressful time but as cliche as this sounds you’ll all end up loving your college experience wherever you go whether it’s at Ucla or not. You’ll quickly learn that it’s not the prestige of the school or ranking that matters but it’s the people you meet and the memories you’ll make that count. Math, English, science it’s all the same anywhere but friendships are what matters. What has made Ucla so special for me is not that it’s a good school, if anything that means there’s too much work lol, but it’s the friendships I’ve made. And if I had those friendships at another school then I would be just as happy there. Best of luck on Friday!

DD had listed 4 AP Exams/Tests to be taken in UC Application. But now she wants to skip 2 of them after she found out she may not get college credits for them (AP English Lit and AP Macroeconomics). Would that be ok with colleges? OR would college rescind her admission if she skips taking tests listed in the application? This is our first experience with college admission process, so we are worried. Appreciate your help, thanks!

@cc4help For the UCs they don’t care. Check the other colleges she applied to

@10s4life thank you so much. Are you positive nothing will happen if she skips AP Exams/tests she mentioned will take in senior year?

Cant wait till friday to see if UCLA becomes UCA by handing me the L…

@cc4help I’m positive, source: I opted not to take 4 AP exams senior year because I knew they wouldn’t count. I called admissions and they said no problem. Also I work for Ucla Engineering

@10s4life Thank you very much! Sorry to bother you.

Got accepted by both UCI and UCDavis with regent scholarships and honors programs. Do I have a good chance at UCLA and UCB?

@cc4help Not a problem, that’s what I’m here for

@13062650031 There is a correlation that getting into selective programs for UCs means you get into others but that just means you’re probably just qualified in general. Congrats on the good work

Does anyone know if UCLA has sent out Regents Invite this year?

@10s4life, sorry to ask this. If you had not listed in application that you plan to take is fine, but if you list as you plan to take and you didn’t take is different right? That is why I was worried.
