Good luck everyone!
can someone post the link to UCLA’s twitter announcement?.. i cant seem to find it
Hey Guys, I haven’t really talked in here since I created the post. I am also an applicant for UCLA. UCLA is my dream school. I spent the summer studying at UCLA, living in Hendrick Hall and eating my dinners at Reiber. After spending 8 weeks there taking physics (got a B) and Computer Science (Unfortunatly, I totally failed), I cant see myself going to any other college next fall. I wrote pretty good essays and I have a lot going on extracurricular wise. I got a 1210 on my SAT, I have a 4.23 GPA, and will graduate with 24 completed college credit hours between UCLA and my local community college. I also studied abroad during my Junior year in Spain so because of that, I wasn’t able to take any AP classes which I worry will hurt my admissions. I am with all of you guys, This is an incredibly nerve-wracking process. I cant focus at all today!
@Heisenberg1700 I missed out on Purdue fam :))
So my ECs are probably subpar
@zlatanibra10 Indian? Even I’m waiting for 5:30 AM lol
@zlatanibra10 Did you get waitlisted from Purdue as well?
same @mmstanfordbound
Look up @uclaadmissions and click on tweets and replies.
on a sort of related note to UCLA, do you guys know if there any way to get instate tuition your second year and so on of a UC school?
So does after 5 mean like soon after or a couple hours? At first I thought maybe they are posting them at 5pm but they said after in case of technical difficulties and so people don’t all go on the portal at once.
@edszebra I remember with my son, he couldn’t actually get into the portal until about 6pm because it was so jammed (had been jammed all day, actually) and then his acceptance was there. Best wishes.
@anonimous2018 its easy. We did that. Document the date you moved into CA very carefully. Drivers license etc. It has to be two full calendar years after that when you become eligible. My son got in-state in his second year at UC Berkeley.
@calgraduclamom thank you!!
@Cozydude Haha what’s so wrong with sig Ep and zbt?
@anonimous2018 I am in the process of figuring out that as well. I am planning on staying in CA after I graduate. Most UCs are hesitant to give in-state tuition becuase most of the time many people leave CA after graduating. I think that will be a time to talk to the actual counselors once you are there. I am going to be really adamant about how I will be staying in CA after I graduate and therefore, I should get in-state tuition. My family is also planning on moving to CA too.
Is 5pm California time?
@anonimous2018, establishing residency is not so easy. Among other things, you have to be free of all parental support for two years, and your time here as an undergraduate student may not count.
@mmstanfordbound yeah, Indian
Planning an all-nighter?
@AJ80876765 yeah, I did.
I am more nervous than my daughter too. She is not showing any emotion at all, i guess she doesn’t want to keep her hopes up and bracing herself for rejection. So far waitlisted at SCU, UCD, accepted at UCSC. So disappointed about
SCU, it was both our ultimate target school. (: Best wishes to all, if your on this sight I know how much you want in.
