@cocoonutty Last year UCSB Regents came in the mail on Feb 25 (several weeks before general acceptances) and Davis Regents came out with acceptances on March 10. I think UCSD came out on March 10 too, but don’t know for sure. UCI Regents came out Feb 15.
@StevenToCollege @caleegalee didn’t know that, thanks for telling me!

@raffie
Don’t know if they have updated it.
But following was the verbiage from three years ago.
We would like to encourage you to apply for the UCLA Regents Scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year.
The UCLA Regents Scholarship represents one of the highest honors awarded to entering students at the
University of California and offers a merit award of $2,000 per year for four years. Scholars who have
additional financial need, based upon a review of their FAFSA, are awarded up to their demonstrated need
with additional scholarships and grants.
Please note that this invitation to apply for the Regents Scholarship does not constitute an offer of admission.
Regents Scholarship applicants will be evaluated and selected by the UCLA Faculty Committee on Honors, Awards and Prizes.
Admissions decisions will be released and scholars will be notified of their award in late March.
If you wish to be considered for the UCLA Regents Scholarship, please submit the application along with
a letter of recommendation, from a teacher or counselor, by February 13, 2015.
@StevenToCollege thank you!
Has anybody received any mail from UCLS yesterday?
@heroind i think theyll be sent on monday/wednesday
Question…
UCLA is my top choice. I applied to Irvine, Cal, SB, and LA. I’m wondering if it would be helpful at all if I were to send admissions my Fall transcripts (4.7gpa, raising UC gpa to 4.29)? I also wonder if it would matter if I were to rescind my apps to Irvine & Cal, would that make a difference? So I would email admissions with my Fall transcript and also let them know UCLA is my top choice and the schools I’ve decided to rescind my apps to, to show them how important UCLA is to me . I’ve read so much about UC’s being more and more strict every year with acceptances because they want to keep the ratio of acceptances:admitted as close together as possible.
Is this something that would be worth it to do, or is it too late in the descision process to matter?
They do not protect yield. DO NOT rescind other UC apps. Don’t you want every chance possible to attend one of these great schools? They don’t see or care where else you applied. They don’t want your transcripts if you are a freshman unless they specifically ask. Plenty of seniors had a 4.8 1st semester of senior year. It just doesn’t matter in the UC admissions process. Admissions will be out soon. Try to be patient. Have you heard from any CSU’s yet? Usually a few acceptances anywhere can ease the anxiety.
I agree. DO NOT rescind other applications. Telling UCLA it’s your top choice won’t help you a bit.
@CopperlineX2 Thank you for your advice.
Yes. 2 so far. SDSU early admissions bc of academics and Barrett Honors college @ ASU (Dad’s alumni). Both were safety schools so no real anxiety alleviated unfortunately.
@teachmama2 ASU Barrett is a solid option. I have a son about to graduate from ASU, BS in Chem with Business minor. As a Barrett student, priority registration and guaranteed housing for 4 years.
Anyone is anxiously waiting for the UCLA invitation?
no bcuz i wont get it… im just waiting for y’all to receive it @Laketahoe79
Does anyone know when this email will be sent?
@BrKmNk , thank you :)) . we didn’t get invite from USC, which is 1200/39,000. So UCLA should be also very remote :(( Any one know what’s the odds?
I got the USC invite; I haven’t heard anything from UCLA though (not that I’m expecting anything). Has anyone heard?
@Laketahoe79 I heard about 2000.
Litttle worried and need help, my D is an international applicant and had applied to UCLA undeclared engineering as 1st choice major and undeclared life science alternate major. Lately we realized she would be more fit for life science and wrote to UCLA yesterday(though their change of major deadline was Jan31st) requesting them to consider her 2nd choice. They replied back saying it is not possible, will this impact her chance? Will they think she is indecisive?
@UmaSridhar No, it won’t matter. However, international students don’t qualify for UCLA Regents - that’s another story altogether.
thanks @saioneer , as international we are expecting just an admission and nothing fancy
