After 8pm she tried to log back in & message shows - passed deadline her application and letter of recommendation not submitted. Unfortunately this was a huge missed opportunity for us!

where do you find out how much aid they’ll give you?

@SarahB21 It is on the MyUCLA Portal. This video walks you through how to access and review it step by step https://ucla.financialaidtv.com/play/54475-pal-access-tutorial/54474-provisional-award-letter-access-tutorial

Do you know when UCLA sends out the acceptance packets? If I live in SoCal when will it arrive?

International accepted for Pre-Business at College of Letters and Science!

Does anyone know if UCLA sends acceptance packets to the admitted international students?

Does anyone know how to apply for Honors?? It’s like a maze on that website and it says you have to “submit a 250-word essay on a specific topic using the online MyUCLA Honors Application”. Where is the application? I can’t find it anywhere.

I definitely filed a fafsa for ucla but i havent received the financial aid package (provisional award letter). Is anyone experiencing this? How can i fix this problem? (I am OOS btw)

@feast1n8: Most OOS students will receive no financial aid for any UC. They expect you to pay full fees, so if you qualify for federal aid such a Pell grants, then you will receive that but not much more. UC’s give good need-based aid to in-state CA students.

@Gumbymom thank you Actually, I was looking for at least the federal Pell grants but even the Pell grant does not show up. Is this normal too?

@feast1n8: I would wait until Monday and if no financial aid shows up in the portal, give UCLA a call.

Does UCLA send admissions packets to international students?

About fin. aid and Middle Class Scholarship: There was actually some of this awarded last year. But it was not awarded until a couple of months later than this. One of the parents from last year’s thread said it wouldn’t be known until Nov., but it did come out earlier than Nov. I believe it only applies to in-state, and for those w/ family income between 80K-$150 K; sliding scale wrt how much is awarded (need based). I was told last year it comes late in the season, since state doesn’t know early on whether or not there is money in the budget for this. -Just thought I’d put this out there (not that anyone asked.)

does anyone know how to link their 9-digit UID to their logon. I made my logon account without the UID and now I want to add it in but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to do this.

@feast1n8 Check out the financial aid homepage for the common reasons students do not receive a financial aid notice. Also make sure you are checking the correct place on the portal. The homepage has a step by step video that walks you through reviewing the award notice http://financialaid.ucla.edu/ Also bear in mind that the Pell grant is aiimed at quite low income students. Generally if your family income exceeds $50,000 you are unlikely to be Pell eligible.

Waitlisted for Biochemistry
GPA: 4.2
ACT: 24
Included SAT II but they were <600

My scores are below average, surprised I even got waitlisted.
In state, first gen
My essays were really good, made my proofreaders cry so I guess that played a role in my decision.
Not a lot of EC but the ones I did have included organizations/clubs I had been with for a long and dedicated period of time including local hospital volunteer for almost 300 hours, school volunteer organization for almost 200 hours and other volunteer opportunities that reached almost 100 hours.
I opted in the waitlist because of UCLA’s proximity and convenience for me to attend, it is close to home and that would save me a lot of money.

Accepted: UCR, Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, and CSUF
