Just out of curiosity how many people usually get off the waitlist? And how are students determined on who gets off the waitlist?
Son waitlisted 4.0uw/4.17w (admittedly light on APs), 1550 sat, 35 act, student body president, lots of volunteer ecs, Go Mustangs (cal poly engineering bound!)

And to those still waiting … you will end up at your perfect school. Both of my older sons went to UCSB after being rejected by UCLA… One got a tech masters and the other still there. They both say it was the best thing ever to happen them! Take heart!
PS UCSB DOES take people off the waitlist …visit the admissions dept.with a heartfelt letter if you can! My son got in from Waitlist 2 years ago … it does happen.
