SAT: 1520 (730 R/W, 790 Math), 22 essay
Extracurriculars: nothing spectacular - no awards (not even Scholar of Distinction) but had a non-paid internship as a newspaper intern, was a leader at my local volunteer group, was the founder of 1 club at my high school and VP of another.
My LOCI wasnât even related to what I wanted to major in! I wrote about how I wanted to take advantage of UCLAâs pre-dental opportunities because they have a graduate dental school there. I also wrote about how I loved UCLAâs dance culture. ~5000 characters and I didnât get anyone to edit it before submitting so it was kind of rough too lol
@letmein000 you can SIR to UCLA and wait for the confirmation before withdrawing your other SIR, but I wouldnât wait more than one day to withdraw after submitting the SIR. i doubt its a mistake! congrats and be proud that you got in!!
Note: remember that you donât get the 250$ back but if you put a deposit on housing or anything else you should get that money back.

@doubledog Congratulations! Same major and also Asian in-state. I also had 2 Bâs first semester and I had six AP classes. 
Iâm glad we both got in.
Iâm guessing this was mainly an in-state wave with a few OOS. I know its too early to lose hope but I am slowly losing hope of getting off the waitlist sigh.

DD accepted this morning off the waitlist. Environmental Science. In-state (Silicon Valley area). 34 ACT. She was already very committed to UCSD (bought 2 tees!) and had turned down UCSB Honors. Idk what she is going to do. As a mom I think UCLA should have just straight up accepted her in March.

My LOCI was just my first semester senior grades (all As) and a few words about why UCLA is my first choice. Only about 700 characters out of 7000. I honestly think the most important part of using that space is stressing that you will commit to UCLA if you get in. They want those high yield numbers.
I got in! OOS and Pre Public Affairs. Amped but now there are more decisions to make lol.

Does anyone know how housing works for students accepted off of the waitlist? It says the applications were due yesterday but I was not aware because I just got off the waitlist a couple days ago.
Have to think they are holding out on Samueli offers for some reason - thatâs a separate school from L&S so hoping they have their own schedule for the waitlist.

took 3 APâs this senior year, 1 dual enrollment class, got a valley championship in a speech tournament and did a lot of volunteer work which I wrote in my waitlist letter. Also talked about clubs I wanted to join at UCLA, professors I wanted to meet, and how I saw myself being successful there! Also said that UCLA was still my #1 choice and that I would choose it over any other school! Good luck to everyone else out there!
got accepted off the waitlist this morning at 8:30!! i got the congratulations email from financial aid first and then an update to my portal.

not going to accept because i already committed to usc and itâs cheaper for me to go there instead of ucla. hopefully declining my offer will open up another spot to one of you guys!!
