Congrats everyone! I also got the email update this morning that I got accepted! I’m In-State (I live 10 minutes away from UCLA lol). WGPA: 4.83, UW: 4.00, Major: Biology, all A’s in fall semester of senior year including 5 APs and 6 classes overall. I didn’t write much in the text for the waitlist, other than my fall semester grades and spring semester classes; I thought that would jeopardize my chances but it didn’t! Good luck to everyone still waiting!
DS got off the WL - IS bio
Very glad!!
Accepted: UCLA, U Washington and other UCs
Waitlisted: UCB and UCSD
Just got accepted this morning when I woke up. Email was sent at 9:15 am.
Caucasian female IS. Gpa UW- 3.95. W-4.56. SAT- 1370. Great essays. LOCI states new activities since application and what i would do academically and school spirit wise at UCLA. APS; (11) World history, environmental science, english lang and comp, psych, US history, gov, microecon, macroecon, english lit and comp, bio, and stats. WAS SO EXCITED, cried, as been very stressful. Had a huge breakdown yesterday about worries and concern i might not get in, followed by radical acceptance no matter the outcom, which i think helped tip the odds in my favor. Stay strong, but don’t be afraid to confront your worry as long as its followed by acceptancec
No, Access to housing is still not available
For those that got in like rn, do we receive the package as well like the ucla bound sign and stuff?
Got off the waitlist this morning! I’m IS and going into L&S
My previous stats were 1400 on the SAT (18 on Essay portion)! And there was a good amount of Financial Aid!
I also got in to UCLA.
A congratulations letter was sent at 8:30 and an email to check the portal was sent at 9:15.
I’m in-state. Pre-Psychology.
SAT: 1300
UW: 3.98(Got a B first semester)
W: 4.79
12 AP Classes (I’m taking 6 right now)
4 Dual-Enrollment Classes
EC: Mock Trial, Academic Decathlon, HOSA, Kiwanis, Social Empowerment and Culinary Club + quite a few volunteer hours (I don’t remember lol)
Congratulations to those who got in!
And thank you for this thread. Honestly, helped me quite a lot! Goodluck everyone!
Even though I got accepted, I’m still dedicated to helping those in this thread because I know what it feels like. @ me if you have any questions.
@samkr14 I’m also IS and didn’t get anything yet >:
Ahhh hopefully we get accepted soon!
@everyone talking about housing
They said that it’ll take a couple days if you were just accepted before you are able to access the housing portal. The woman I spoke to through the live chat function yesterday said that Friday admits should have access monday; I assume it’ll either be monday or tuesday for today’s admits
Did anyone who got off the waitlist instate have an overall GPA at or lower than 3.85? I have high test scores but my GPA is lacking
At this point, I don’t think they are admitting by stats. Honestly, you were all selected for the waitlist because you offer something for the admitted class, and from here its all about demographics of enrolled students. It’s hard but you have to trust in the holistic process at UCLA.
I got in!!! I received an email at about 8:30 this morning about financial aid that said “Congratulations on your admission to UCLA!” I decided to check my portal and it was true! I definitely did NOT expect this, but am super excited and already submitted my SIR! Here’s my stats + some info about myself for reference:
In State (Riverside County)
Admitted as a pre-political science major in L&S (but planning on changing to pre-communication studies)
UW GPA: 3.9
W GPA: 4.5
SAT: 1400 (English: 760; Math: 640)
ACT: 30
APs: AP Lang (4): AP Lit (4); AP Calc A/B (2); AP Art History (5); Currently taking APES, AP Gov, and AP Macro
Most of my classes were Honors courses and I took a large number of classes through a local community college.
Acceptances: UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, University of Washington, San Diego State, San Francisco State, Cal State Fullerton, and Emerson College
Waitlisted: UCLA and UC Berkeley
Rejected: USC and NYU
I originally submitted my SIR to UC San Diego, but immediately accepted UCLA’s offer upon being accepted.
As you can see, my stats aren’t the best, so it goes to show that anything is possible. I think that my essays were really what set me apart.
I also think it’s worth noting that I didn’t submit a letter of continued interest. I just submitted my grades from last semester as well as the classes I am taking this semester in the waitlist box.
Congratulations to everyone else who got in! And good luck to those of you haven’t yet… don’t lose hope! I hope that the information that I posted helps!
3.85 is not a low gpa. It is average for UCLA. However, the acceptances show that GPA matters more! I got in today:
GPA: 4.6 , 4.00 (9-12)
senior year; 4.8, 4.00
SAT: 1400 (kind of low in my opinion)
Major: Bio instate
YAY! My daughter got in at 8.43 am. She is IS and her stats are borderline!
SAT: 1360
ACT: 30
GPA: 4.5 weighted
She applied for undeclared life sciences but is planning on changing her major! Good luck to everyone else and Go Bruins!
How many waves were there for international students in the 2023 waitlist? Was there only one wave?
I GOT IN THIS MORNING!!!
SAT: 1210
GPA (UW): 3.91
9 AP Classes + All Honors
Didnt include senior year grades bc i got 2 Cs (LOL).
major: environmental science
- lots of ecs with strong positions-- more well rounded tho in my opinion
talked about what i’ve done since submitting: volunteering with special olympics, how i chaired a charity event that raised 2k, voter registration drive, advocating for pss/no pass in my school.
then talked abut what i wanna do there and professors.
CONGRATS TO EVERYONE!
i got waitlisted at 5 schools! uci, uc davis, ucsd, ucla, and NYU. rejected at usc and uc berkeley. thought i was going to go to cc and csulb.
@czhang2020 I think last year there was only 1 international wave but I am not sure…also not sure how everything will play out this year due to covid for international students
Congratulations to all those who got in!! How was the financial aid for the IN STATE acceptances compared to other UCs?
