I am not 100% sure but I heard that they do not take many, maybe a few, off of the engineering waitlist bc the yield is pretty high for that certain college
Unfortunately there is no such thing as âgood chance to get off the UCLA waitlistâ. Your chances are below 10%, even lower for Engineering.
I hope you like the school you are planning on committing too! Good luck!
pain.
does this mean the yield is a lot higher this year since there wasnât a wave today?
If nothing comes tomorrow then yeah probably
Damn. They ghosted us.
First wave was on April 28th last year so fingers crossed for tomorrow.
that is what I think
I donât think it will be tomorrow because transfer admissions come out tm at 5pm, it seems like a lot for them to release in 1 day
what is âthe yieldâ??
The percentage of accepted students that enroll.
ohh thanks!
Depends on the yield rate. Last year the admit rate off UCLAâs waitlist was 19.22%. Itâs higher for out-of-state applicants also.
Do you know what the rate for engineering was for international students?
Everyone here is a little anxious to start seeing people get off the waitlist. I totally understand that. But the first wave was April 28th last year, so it theyâre following last yearâs pattern then we shouldnât be too worried just yet. I copied and pasted the schedule of waves that someone commented from that thread here, feel free to screenshot:
-April 15th: Deadline to accept waitlist spot and
submit any information in additional infobox
-April 28th, Tuesday: 1st wave, all O0S and
international, seemed to be all LS
-April 30th, Thursday: 2nd wave, 00S, seemed
to be LS
-May 1st, Friday: 3rd wave, Is, LS
-May 2nd, Saturday: 4th wave, IS and O0S, LS
-May 5th, Tuesday: IS and O0s, LS, and
Samueli
-May 7th, Thursday: unsure, not many people
got off
-May 8th, Friday: small number, only one OOS
person reported getting off
-May 11th, Monday: small number, only one
O0S individual reported getting off
-May 14th, Thursday: 00S and international,
seems to be LS
-May 16th, Saturday: IS, LS
-May 20th, Wednesday: 00S
The rate last year was very low for engineering students. They didnât have any waves, because only a few people got accepted
Hey, may I ask what do IS and LS stand for?
IS = In State
OOS = Out of State
LS = College of Letters and Science
Exactly!
