UCLA Clubs

Is anyone here going to join a club(s) at UCLA?
If so, which one?

Personally, I've been thinking about joining NSU or JSA (if I can). I intend to be more active at my university rather than going there solely for class.

Undergraduate Student Associate Council
Undergraduate Business Society
Bruin Democrats
Business Economics Club
Business Financial Club
Honors Program

Amnesty Int'l
Vietnamese Student Union
Excursion Club
Geography Club
German Club
Kayak PoloClub sport
Poli Sci Student Organization

i can't wait to get involved- very unlike my CC. nikkei, are you poli sci too?

This might be better suited for the UCLA forum. Just because I can sense the rage building in all of the non-UCLA transfers.

Come join us. We're fun.

Bfired- Seriously, that's a little excessive. I know you want to be involved, and that's awesome, but with a real class load and real life and everything, you will not have the time or energy to participate in 7+ clubs, especially if you intend to ever work or study or do anything not school related. Really. I'm in 2+honors and even those take up a great deal of time if you're at all comitted.

It's a nice thought, but it might be a little hard to execute without being detrimental to everything else going on when you get to school.

i didn't even know there is a uc forum.

Colleges and Universities -> Top Universities -> UCLA.

Allie, I know, that's just my preliminary list. I'm gonna check out some meetings, talk to some people, and probably find only 2-3 worthwhile clubs to join. That would be awesome if I could join 7 clubs, but there are classes (or something) at UCLA to occupy my time. -_-

K that's much more reasonable.

Just making sure and stuff.

prolly Engineering Society and IEEE...don't really have too much time...maybe I will join a lot then not go to any meetings.

bfired2,

Yup, I'm a poli sci major too.
What's your concentration? Right now, I'm leaning towards IR.
Let's meet up sometime, yeah?

"prolly Engineering Society and IEEE...don't really have too much time...maybe I will join a lot then not go to any meetings."

Don't they kick you out of the club if you do that?

"K that's much more reasonable.

Just making sure and stuff."

allie

You are always there to watch our backs.
Kind of like what a mom does for her child.
Thanks, mom!

GAH.

I am TWENTY years old.

I am mother to NO ONE, and shan't be for a great while.

/But thanks for the sentiment :)

Twenty, eh?
You are one sexy momma!
RAWR!

Lollers.

Gracias.

"Don't they kick you out of the club if you do that?"

not really....

Yeah, generally they don't kick you out, especially if you've paid.

This excludes clubs that require lots of commitment though. Like, if someone consistently fails to show up for and participate in AdTeam, they'll be dropped without a refund. But that's rare and depends entirely on the nature of the club/activity.

i'm not sure what my concentration is yet, but i know it's not gonna be theory. i'm also leaning towards IR, but maybe comparative too since those are somewhat similar. i still have to take poli sci 10 (theory) though to even declare my major. it sucks- they don't even OFFER it this quarter! did you finish your major prep yet?

edit: thanks, mom. haha

I cringe every time one of you says that.
