I know last year the average GPA for transfers looking to get into the communications department was a 3.93. Does anyone know if it improved for this years applicants? I'm not sure if they released the statistics yet. I'm freaking out because I might get my first B this semester and drop me to a 3.9 and I'm not sure if I should have done TAP...so frustrated :(

no one knows yet. admissions were just released and the profile of admitted students for fall 2010 won’t be released for a month or two. it doesn’t matter if the average GPA for comm majors goes up or not. ur basically allowed to get one B. having a higher gpa by a few hundredths only means students, on average, took more units and earned an A in those courses. i have a few friends that got in this year with one B (in a prereq too). they had TAP though. u won’t have a great chance of getting in unless u complete TAP and a few ECs to talk about

oh, so they look at TAP very heavily for comm majors now? I’ve been hearing mixed stories about that from searching these forums.
