Which program is stronger??

I wish i had this dilemma :(

Not to thread-jack, but could we also include SD Comm into the picture? For me, it’s Cal vs. SD Comm, and even though kc_sunshine already elaborated on Cal’s Media Studies, I’d like more info from SD Comm ppl please.

i know a few ppl from SD Comm. they said its “alright” I dont have any proof of this, so correct me if i’m wrong! but as far as Cal, i heard its a small department. That’s all i know about this… i want to know what kind of classes are offered in Cal and UCLA.

Cal and UCLA both provide theoretical classes, but I heared that UCLA communications studies is very strong. Plus, I think as a communications tudies at UCLA will obtain a lot of paid internship(because of Hollywood). Many production companies like Walt Disney, Paramount and universal will offer many paid positions for junior/seniors college students. Working for these companies will definitely help you look good in your resume or graduate school applications. I wish I will get into UCLA communications studies. And I am off to UCSD now, some people said that it is good, too and it also offers good internships for students.

Yeah if someone could give us more info about SD Comm program. Someone from the other thread mentioned that the communication department in UCSD is ranked #2 in the nation which is based in theory in production. I don’t know what his basis is but yeah here goes

i got accepted to UCLA’s comm studies this year. i have absolutely no idea what i can do with this major. i just wanted to see if i could get into UCLA’s hardest major as a backup to haas.

congrats on getting accepted. I know UCLA Comm studies is pretty hard to get into. Do you mind if i ask what your GPA was? I’m an international student so i’m a little clueless about GPA but i read the average GPA for those accepted fall 2010 was 3.94 and i only have 3.75.

he may come back but that post is 6 months old
