I recently got admitted to UCLA as a transfer. I just wanted to know if they wanted us to keep a 3.0 overall GPA or just a 3.0 for the semester. Anyone know this?

call. ask.

it’s 3.0 for semester

@philosoup: Is there a source for this? Are they strict about keeping it at a 3.0?

the contract for me says dont get too many C’s (which i presume means more than 1).
so pretty much a 3.0 but you definitely dont want any d or f.

My contract says that if I get 3 or more Cs, a “D”, or an “F”, then I should report it.

I hate to hijack this thread, but I should be ok if I drop a 1 unit PE class right? I would get a W at this point.

how about if I get a C on my major class? 2 GE A and 1 major C, how about that?

Mine says something different - it says I must maintain my GPA (no number given) but in my Stats class (which is an in progress pre-req) I must get a “B” or higher.

It says on your UCLA decisions page. I need to keep a B or above average in 3 of my courses this semester. Not bad.

I never got any specific instructions whatsoever. They’re basically all generic. Can you screenshot bear?

Mine is just maintain my GPA (no number given) and report if there’s an excess of Cs, Ds, or Fs.
Weird.

@Lfc getting a C in pre-req is fine. And I have the same contract as you.

you guys don’t have any specifics like that on your admissions contract?

I get the same “maintain gpa.” But as far as the courses, mine aren’t specified like bearterritory3’s. It just says to finish all these courses even though I just need to finish my business and english courses.

@bearterritory3: Mine is specified “B or higher” for one of my courses as well (a prereq).

Whoa. I’m lucky my contract doesn’t specify the types of grades I should get. I think I’m getting a c in a pre req. do you guys have any idea why you got a different contract?

That’s exactly what I got. I had to change some classes around this spring (scheduling conflicts, IGETC requirements, etc). I really hope it won’t be a big deal but I’m still super nervous.

@mmmkay seems like we got the more ‘relaxed’ version of the contract if you ask me. people like bear all got these specific instructions on what grades they need to get and stuff. seems more strict.

Im a one year transfer and I decided to do all my pre reqs in spring so it makes sense. Good thing USC does spring grade requests or else transferitis would probably not allow me to have a 4.0 right now.
