UCLA-course question

I'm going to either UCLA or UCB as a psychology major, but I've decided to persue neuroscience in grad school. Due to this change, I need to take a bunch of lower division classes at a UC (a year of physics, life science, chem...), in order to take the "neuroscience emphasis psych classes". Is it bad to take a bunch of lower division classes at a UC? is this going to cause me problems?

Why would it be bad to take lower div. classes at UC? I don’t think this is a problem, but taking those extra classes might force you to graduate later.

Uh…depending on where you go, yes. I have a friend at UCLA who had to re-enter due to his being a computer science major and taking a bunch of non-major related courses his first few quarters. When they found out that he would be unable to finish his major by a certain time period (or unit limit?) they kicked him out. He enrolled at De Anza for a few quarters, changed majors, and re-entered as a…something else major. I don’t know if this will apply to you, but I hope this anecdote helps.

if you have no problem taking weeder classes at UCLA and spending extra money on classes you could’ve saved by taking them at CC, then I can’t see how.

Graduation date might be a problem though.
