ssshhhhhhhh RileyJohn!

lol :P

a UCLA student just called me saying he was from the alumni association asking me to apply for a transfer student scholarship. i wonder if that means anything…

ok i have an update for everyone!!!

my friend goes to ucla and he called me and told me that people who qualify for the transfer scholarships are getting calls right now (he’s volunteering to make the calls so he knows)

everyone else is gonna find out next week

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

but good news is that if you get a call tonight you got in for sure!

Dear UCLA,

Call me.

Nadiavar,

I got that call a few days ago. I couldn’t quite follow your logic as to how this call guarantees that we were admitted. Does it, in fact, imply that we were admitted or does the scholarship board work apart from the admissions board?

In order to qualify for the transfer scholarships did we have to check something on the application or was there a separate form?

@ nadiavar

Seriously? Call = acceptance?

But why is it that some people are getting it and not others? What are the qualifications?

I got this call an hour ago. I highly doubt it means that i have been accepted

my friend said that those who were accepted and qualified for the scholarship (it was based on gpa) got a call tonight

why would they waste their time calling every single person who qualified for the transfer scholarship if they didnt get in… you guys if you got a call you have been admitted

artislove, i checked out the website for the scholarship application and the 2 requirements were 1. have above a 3.75 gpa and 2. have at least 90 quarter (60 semester) units (half from a California Community College)

if you didnt get a call dont freak out… decisions will be out on the 22nd for everyone else :D

Okay, based on the past 3 years of UCLA releasing their transfer decisions, it has been consistently April 24th. However, this year, April 24th falls on a Saturday so maybe it will be released earlier or on that day. Otherwise, we were all dooped.

To check my facts, you can look back on the UCLA Admission blog’s entries on Transfer Decision Released for April 2007 & April 2008. As for 2009, you can look back at entries in the UC Transfer forum to see everyone’s post about their status.

nadiavar, is your friend sure that calls were only made to those that got accepted and qualified for the scholarship? Sorry for asking i just want to be sure!

@nadivar,
What about if you got a call a week ago? I got my call about a week ago from today.

is there a thread with people’s stats that have applied or got in? thanks

Bruin, i don’t think anyone has gotten in yet… it’s going to come next week probably thursday or friday?

i meant the previous year…sorry

johnny_boi, if you got the scholarship call a week ago, then i’m sure you are in the same boat as me (i got it today). I’m not certain that the call means anything though…

Bruin, yeah there is but you will have to go looking for it. You could just look at UCLA’s website for acceptance stats
