UCLA deferring admission, who's with me?

I don't feel like doing that alcohol bs, so i am gona try to take a quarter off to think about it. :)

Who's with me?

^haha are you serious?

you should take that quarter off drinking - i mean learning about alcohol. :)

cadinal, i am half serious. I want to go to ccc to finish off some prereqs.

I am gona have to write a letter explaining it. i have a feeling it won't be approved.

I also heard i can enroll and then drop my classes, although that way i won't be able to get subject credit, most likely.

What alcohol thing?

"cadinal, i am half serious. I want to go to ccc to finish off some prereqs."

Ahh, thats chillin. But I thought you couldn't defer for your first quarter. You should just make up extenuating circumstances. ha

"I am gona have to write a letter explaining it. i have a feeling it won't be approved."

"I also heard i can enroll and then drop my classes, although that way i won't be able to get subject credit, most likely."

That might work; I know some foreign students who studied at UCLA who simply dropped all their classes and turned their stay into an extended Los Angeles vacation.

I'll join you highschoolda!!! :D

I don't think deferring works....(unless you are in the military) not too sure though

citan, i am assuming u're not with me. too bad... grasspuppet and I will miss you.

At berkeley theres a widthdraw policy, meaning you can drop all your classes and effectivly not register for courses until your ready. Apparently some people have taken decade long breaks then picked up where they left off.

I need to write a letter explaining the circumstance, I could say the real reason and the need to go back and take some classes.

But, i could say i need to do some soul searching, find the meaning of life, travel the world, etc.

I just don't want to do the alcohol.edu thing. I doubt they'll kick me out for it.

Dam just finised the alcohol.edu, longest 3 hours of my life.

what do you mean by the "alcohol bs"?

nothing really. I didn't do alcohol education online thats required by ucla since i thought it would be a waste of time that i just don't have right now. I am taking two classes and i work. but that was a joke.

i need to go back to ccc to do some classes to boost up gpa and get prereqs for grad school.

What's this alcohol edu that you speak of?

Is it new?

Cuz I definitely didn't do that last year.

And I'm thinking I got lucky.

yeah it is new. it's geared more for freshies than transfers.

Ah.

Well, lollerskates if UCLA thinks that some online thing is going to quell the rampant, constant binge drinking that goes on here.

Too many drunks and drunks in waiting for that to be anything close to effective.

haha, i always thought ucla is pretty nerdy school. GUess not.

Dude.

You have no idea.

We're smart, but we're alcoholics. Some of the smartest people I know here are insane drunks. It's amazing.

/ETA- I say we in a collective, bruin family sort of way. I actually don't like to drink, so I usually don't. But I feel like I do since everyone else is usually drinking-jager-out-of-straws drunk.
