FROM THE UCB CAREER CENTER:
NOTE: If you plan to apply to UCLA Dental School, the chemistry courses that will fulfill their chemistry pre-req. can be fulfilled by completing:

Two semesters of General Chemistry:

Chemestry 1A/1AL & Chemistry 1B/1BL - 8 Units
OR

Chemistry 4A/4AL & 4B/4BL 8 Units
One semester of Organic Chemistry: 3A/3AL 5 Units

So, how do people apply to UCLA Dental and other dental schools? I don't get it. The chem track is usually Chem 1A, Chem 3A, Chem 3B, MCB 102. so do people just either do UCLA or do other schools?

it means you have to take that extra Chem 1B class if you want to apply to UCLA

if not, you can probably skip it

that sucks, uclads is next to harvard when it comes to dental schools.

It’s like the mecca of the west for predents.
It’s like the stink for a pig.
It’s like the It’s like the homo in the nucleophile for the lumo in the electrophile.
It’s like the oil in Gavin Newsoms hair.

wow…that got sidetracked fast…

if i recall correctly, you are a spring admit, you will have to take Chem 1B some spring/summer

Ummm, there are plenty of students at UCSF who might disagree with you!

yeah, but from what I understand ucla is the stronger of the two in research, clinical (dental only, UCSFMS blows UCLAMSout of the water), and it’s more competitive to get into. I would provide evidence but ucla doesn’t seem to have admission statistics, ucsf on the other hand…[UCSF School of Dentistry](http://dentistry.ucsf.edu/admissions/admiss_program1-stats.html)

both are exceptional school and we can debate for years which one is better. in the end no one really cares where you went.
