UCLA: Discussion Sections?

Today I registered for two summer session C classes at UCLA. I noticed that in STAT 100A Lecture, 39 people are enrolled. Yet, in the STAT 100A Discussion, (there is only one section for summer session C) only 17 people are enrolled. Doesn't your course # depend on what discussion your in? Another interesting note, this isn't the case with my other class (Econ 11) as there is no discussion section for that course.

Anyhow, how can this be? Why are the amount of people in the discussion and lecture different?

Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing… one class allowed 150 ppl to be enrolled yet only 3 disucssion classes with a limit of 17 were open.

If anyone would like to answer this, feel free to.

conn1ex3, which class?

Supa, where do you see that information? From what I see, 18 people are enrolled in both the lecture and discussion.

i forgot which one it was, but it was somewhere in the poli sci section

Impossible.

Class Enrollment limit always matches that of the discussion section’s.

look at poli sci 132A … it is not the one i was referring to, but it is an example of.

care to explain anyone?

@rpicton

Yea I noticed that too. Perhaps the issue is with myUCLA? As the “classmates” says 40 students are enrolled in the class, and only 18 in the discussion.

@dhl3

That’s what I thought too. Perhaps the issue is just with the classmates function on myUCLA.
