slideshow of the top 10:

For those who didnt bother reading:
1. University of California, Berkeley
2. Suffolk University
3. Marymount Manhattan College
4. Sarah Lawrence College
5. Drexel University
6. University of California, Los Angeles
7. New York University
8. Eugune Lang College
9. University of California, Santa Cruz
10. Manhattanville College

haha, UCB is number 1. shesh, we're ahead of NYU, it really must be expensive.

wow berkeley is no.1 strange...usually in lists like these you don't expect the publics..but I guess CA is pretty expensive

Nice find, kfc4u. I'm glad that the article bothered to mention that UCLA is building more dorms to offer four years of guaranteed on-campus housing. However, that "slideshow of the top 10" has got to be the most misleading series of images ever. Sure, Westwood is beautiful, but that image makes it look like a scene from Miracle on 34th Street.

I don't think that picture is Westwood, is it?!? I mean, it could theoretically be Broxton, but it looks a lot more like 3rd street...

wow...does Westwood get decked out like that during Christmas?

Santa Cruz? Last time I was there, the campus reminded me of a campground. And Santa Cruz is not exactly in an urban setting...San Jose maybe, but I think that's too far to be considered a suburb.

that really doesn't look like westwood. and I can understand why so expensive - hitch/hedrick are just a few feet away from multimillion dollar bel air mansions.

The picture looks like the Santa Monica 3rd st Promenade, not Westwood.

yup...3rd street promenade

http://images.businessweek.com/ss/06/08/dorms/image/ucla.jpg

http://www.baysidehotel.com/images/3rd%20Street%20Promenade_400.jpg

If the dorms were in Santa Monica, I wonder how far the "off-campus" housing would be.

Like 10-15 mins with minimal traffic and 30 mins in rush hour

The Promenade never looks that nice. Talk about selling an image.

lol its nice that three of those are UC schools

Where's the bums?

If it were on 3rd street it'd be about as "on-campus" as the Berkeley housing...

*** i know that GWU is like waaay more expensive than UCLA, seeing as how the average cost of housing is 11K not including the required 5,000 bucks you're required to put into your GWU card for meals.
